Cuneta Astrodome was indeed filled with tension tonight as the much awaited announcement of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2’s Grand Star Dreamer has finally arrived. The Top Six Scholars were joined by their former co-Scholars, Vina Morales and Wency Cornejo to open the show with their rendition of Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life and the legendary group Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’.

Tonight, the Little Dreamers’ Little Dream Bigayan Project was also launched. In the spirit of Christmas, the Academy kids imparted a collection of Christmas songs as the former Scholars roamed around the dome in order to collect donations to be given to the kids’ charity—Childhope Asia Philippines.

Uberture host, Billy Crawford also imparted a song and dance number tonight. Together with the Banana Split girls, he performed his hit song Bright Lights. Aside from Billy, the Dream Mentors too prepared a little something to bid their Scholars farewell. Teacher Von, Teacher Monet, Teacher Kitchy, Direk Joey and Headmaster Ryan had their own interesting version of Earth, Wind and Fire’s September and the Tagalized version of Umbrella on stage.

To finally end the night, the much awaited announcement was made. Laarni was hailed the newest Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer. After garnering 651,696 votes, which is equivalent to 35.21 percent of the total text votes, she owned the stage with great pride and sang her very first single Manalig Ka. The Independent Woman from Sultan Kudarat was indeed overwhelmed upon hearing her win. She broke down in tears in the middle of her final song, but since the show must go on, she did her best to pull herself together.

Joining the new Grand Star Dreamer in the Top Three were Bugoy and Miguel who gathered a total of 26.70% and 13.69% respectively. Unfortunately, Liezel, who was a consistent Star Scholar didn’t make it into the Top Three and had to settle with fourth place with a total of 247,346 text votes. She was followed by Van who garnered 112,065 votes while Cris filled in the last slot with only a total of 36,487 text votes.

The school year has finally ended and it’s time for the Scholars to finally face the real world and show everyone what they have learned inside the Academy. Best of luck Scholars! Till the next season!

Top Six Scholars face their Grand Dream Night

The night that Bugoy, Cris, Laarni, Liezel, Miguel and Van have been waiting for has finally arrived— the Grand Dream Night. Again, they were asked to face the jurors, composed of Louie Ocampo, Girlie Rodis and their very own Dream Mentors, in order to gain commendations and be hailed deserving of the newest Grand Star Dreamer title. To open the act, the reality show’s infamous hosts—Nikki Gil, Billy Crawford, and Toni Gonzaga—shared their part with an interesting opening number, followed by the performance of the expelled Scholars.

Live from the Cuneta Astrodome, Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab initiated the graduation rites as he called the Scholars one at a time to grant them his blessing. After the commencement exercise, the Scholars began with their show as they welcomed their guests with their rendition of Awit ng Pangarap. After the said welcome performance, the Top Six proceeded with their corresponding production numbers. Bugoy, Miguel and Van went in to wow the crowd first with their production number consisting of Ne-yo’s greatest hits—Closer, Addiction and Because of You. The girls, on the other hand, heated up the dome with their sexy performance of Pussycat Dolls’ When I Grow Up, Buttons and Don’t Cha.

The performances above were plainly teasers—the real show was their individual presentations. First to show to the whole world what he got was Miguel. With his songs Love is on the Way and Man in the Mirror, juror Girlie couldn’t deny how great the Romantic Crooner had improved.

Laarni went next with her rendition of Manalig Ka and Boogie Wonderland. By the end of her act, she got a little off note, which Headmaster Ryan immediately noticed. But despite her mistake, Mr. C couldn’t deny how well the Independent Woman pulled of the said number.

Teacher Monet couldn’t be happier for the next performer, Cris, who finally found her focus. Aside from simply being naturally sexy and pretty, the in-house teacher also commended Cris for her remarkable artistry and ability to cope up with their lessons. Her great musical improvement was clearly displayed tonight through her rendition of Out Here on my Own and Candyman.

Van immediately wowed the crowd the very moment he took over the stage to sing Hard Habit to Break and Probinsyana. As Direk Joey said it, the young man from Cebu is indeed oozing with star quality. The media performance teacher claimed that though he didn’t have the best voice quality among the bunch, his charms will surely bring him to different heights.

Speaking of star quality, juror Louie also found it in Liezel as she ruled the stage tonight with her version of I am Changing and Respect. The said juror couldn’t be happier for the lass, because at long last, she came out of her shell. He even added that if she continues this development, she won’t be far from becoming a great star in the near future.

Aside from Liezel, Bugoy too has come a very long way. After his presentation of Ligaya and Climb Every Mountain, Teacher Kitchy couldn’t help but recall the lad’s audition piece, Guy Sebastian’s Angels Brought Me Here. According to the over-all voice teacher, given his great voice quality, he was indeed brought by angels to where he is now.

To end the night, Season 1 Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino joined the Top Six Scholars in singing her famous hits, such as Hawak Kamay, Salamat and Habang Buhay. By tomorrow night, another Scholar will be announced Yeng’s successor. Who among the remaining six Scholars deserve to be called the Grand Star Dreamer?

Top Six Scholars hold a grand reunion before the Grand Dream Night

After their band rehearsals yesterday, the Scholars were surprised to see formally set tables inside the Academy. Upon seeing the tables, they already had a strong feeling that they would be accommodating some visitors, so they got a little excited.

Immediately, they hopped in their best outfits, just like Teacher Monet instructed them. After they finished preparing themselves, the Dream Mentors—Headmaster Ryan, Teacher Monet, Teacher Von, Teacher Kitchy and Direk Joey—arrived to join them, as they waited for their special guests.

To start the party rolling, Headmaster asked Cris to sing one of her songs for Saturday. And while she was in the middle of her act, she was surprised to see her mom enter the scene, singing an excerpt from Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita.

Bugoy’s mom arrived too and shared with them her rendition of The Greatest Love of All. She wasn’t quite familiar with the lyrics, but her song was indeed heartfelt. On Miguel’s mom’s arrival, she serenaded her son with Leah Navarro’s Kailangan Kita. Upon hearing her, it was pretty evident where Miguel got his great musicality. For Liezel, on the other hand, G-clef’s oldie but goodie entitled I Understand How You Feel was interpreted by her mom.

During Laarni’s turn, the event got quite emotional. It has been quite a long time since the two saw each other, so the Independent Woman couldn’t help but burst into tears upon feeling the mixture of happiness and longing take over her. And in order to calm the lass down, her mom dedicated to her the song Close to You by The Carpenters.

Though Van’s mom was not present last night, his dad dropped by to show him his support and sing to him one of his favorite songs, Can’t Fight this Feeling.

Surprisingly, the Top Six Scholars’ visitors just kept on coming. Aside from their beloved parents, former Scholars—Sheng, Bea, Christian, Apple, Iñaki, Bunny, Chivas, Poy and Sen—dropped by the Academy to bid the Final Six good luck.

Cebu welcomes back Van

Van received an early wake-up call from Teacher Monet yesterday. Even before the sun went up, he was already on his way towards the airport to ride a plane that would bring him back to his native land—no other than, Cebu.

The Hearthrob couldn’t hide his excitement all throughout the trip. When he reached Cebu airport, he was pretty amazed how many screaming fans went there just to welcome him home. He couldn’t be more flattered to receive the support of his co-locals, and he couldn’t find more ways to thank them enough.

His itinerary for the day was indeed filled with shows and guestings, but still he had time to roam around the province and feel the air of being home once again. After his engagements, he went back to the places that mattered to him the most. First, he dropped by his alma mater, where he was warmly welcomed by his friends and his brother. Then, he proceeded to the house of his beloved aunt who played a vital role in his life alone there in Cebu.

Aside from Van, Manila-based Miguel and Cris, too, had a shot at having a short reunion with their families. Miguel was joined by his mom and his sisters when he delivered the relief goods he sent to his chosen charity the other day. On the other hand, Cris had a short get-together with her family and friends last Tuesday at Check Point, where she held her show-for-a-cause with former band-mates from Wa-epek band. There, she also had a short reunion with her in-house sweetheart, Sen.

Just like Miguel and Cris, one of Van’s agenda in Cebu was to share his donations to his chosen charity, the Cebu Task Force on Street Children, so before he even left his province, he dropped off his gift to the said foundation and amused the people there by imparting a song number.

The Top Six Scholars are now actively playing their roles in their community by merely putting their talents into good use, but still the fact remains that only one of them will go home victorious with the Grand Star Dreamer title. Ex-scholars reunite on Uberture

Ex-scholars Chivas, Apple, Sheng, Bea and Christian were interviewed live on Uberture today. Majority of the former Acadremians felt that Laarni was deserving of the Grand Star Dreamer title. If Bugoy was their 2^nd placer, Van was their bet on the third spot.

When asked who among the Top 6 was a food enthusiast, almost all agreed on Miguel. Cris was a favorite choice with the question on who among them smelled the best.

The ex-scholars got all giddy when asked about their crushes in the Academy. Bea and Chivas remained loyal to their partners. While Christian crushed on Laarni, Sheng was attracted to Van. Apple had the most shocking revelation when she confessed that she liked Bugoy for his personality.

Also on the show this afternoon was the Top 6’s rehearsals with Teacher Kitchy. The Voice Mentor taught the dreamers how to control their voices. Laarni seemed to have a difficult time doing so while Liezel was able to sing a line in one breath. Miguel on the other hand appeared off-key and needed sufficient supply of air. Would the scholars be able to apply these last minute techniques before the Grand Dream Night? Miguel amuses the scholars

Miguel was up early this morning since he was assigned to man the household. As soon as the others got out of bed, Miguel badgered them relentlessly with trivial matters. The Romantic Crooner theorized that he had to speak in order to exercise his vocal chords and keep them in good condition.

The rest on the other hand strictly followed the “no-talk” policy. Instead of singing at the top of her lungs, Laarni just focused on the choreography of her dance numbers. For a moment, the Independent Woman wanted to find out if she had already lost weight. Miguel jokingly reacted violently which cracked up Laarni.

After amusing the gal from the South, he went to Cris and confessed that he was bothered about his legs. He ranted about its rather large size and he kept going about how he would tone his muscles.

When Cris left to practice her piece, he admitted to Liezel that he was envious of Van. The Romantic Crooner mentioned that he never had a peaceful rest while the Cebuano Heartthrob seemed to have much experience of it. The most trivial question of it all though was that he would never get to watch himself and see if he indeed had a blissful sleep. Liezel seemed entertained with Miguel’s comic remarks and his sudden openness. But would Miguel push their limit and stir conflict with only a day away before the Grand Dream Night? Bugoy and Miguel plan to be ultimate performers

It was Bugoy and Miguel’s turn to grant viewers’ request on Uberture today. During Billy’s interview with them it was revealed that both shared the dream of being ultimate performers someday.

The Romantic Crooner confessed that he wanted to penetrate the international market five years from now. Miguel felt that knowing how to play musical instruments was his advantage over the others. When asked about Bea however, he wanted her to experience the same thing he was going through as part of the Top 6.

Bugoy on the other hand wanted to dedicate his final performance to his mom. Apart from this, the Farmer’s Son shared that the good news that his favorite carabao, Goopy, has a new addition to its family.

After their interview, Miguel sang Passenger’s Seat for Rochelle Francisco while Bugoy sang his version of Half-Crazy for Adora Juayang.

Meanwhile, the scholars had their own ways of memorizing their pieces for the Grand Dream Nights. If Miguel chose to internalize by the poolside, Cris isolated herself and concentrated on learning the lyrics. Van studied while going through his every day routine inside the house like exercising and cooking, while Laarni seemed to want an audience as she practiced every time the scholars were within earshot.

Top Six Scholars take a trip down memory lane

As the end of the school year fast approaches, the Top Six Scholars couldn’t help but reminisce some of the memorable experiences they had during their almost 3-month stay inside the Academy.

It started with Laarni’s invitation to Van for a mock boxing match after dinner. Teacher Monet recalled that ex-Scholar Christian used to be Laarni’s sparring partner. With that memory at hand, he also remembered how one of their hoarse plays turned into a dramatic dispute, which somehow caused an unspoken partition in the Academy.

Speaking of more disputes, they also remembered the heated argument that aroused between Laarni and Academy drop-out, Jet. They clearly remembered that incident when Laarni was taking a bath and singing in quite a loud voice while their former co-Scholar, Chivas, was undergoing an attack. She clearly remembered how harsh Jet commanded her to shut up. Aside from that, she also recalled how weird his argument was towards her—coming up with issues like all her co-Scholars are pissed with her, while their topic in question was his rudeness towards her.

Aside from Laarni, Miguel too had his share in this trip down to memory lane. His controversial outburst towards ex-Scholar Bea in order to defend the Independent Woman made its mark on all of them. They classified it to be a real shocker, considering that Miguel had been nothing but a reserved gentleman inside the Academy.

They just couldn’t believe how many unforgettable memories they had in such a short span of time. From being mere strangers, they were able to develop a special bond of friendship that they will surely remember for the rest of their lives. Liezel shows radical improvement

Contrary to other’s observation of Liezel’s declining performance, Liezel showed apparent improvement during the rehearsals. Teacher Kitchy and Teacher Monet noticed that she was able to correct her previous mistakes and her voice was fuller compared to the past few days. However, she still had to polish off her diction and then she was set to go. Liezel beamed at the positive feedback and seemed determined to impress the mentors further.

Cris on the other hand appeared to have difficulty delivering today. After being used to the clean atmosphere in the Academy, she was exposed yesterday to the outside world and its blemishes. In effect, her sinus reacted and her throat was irritated. Before she was let off, the mentors advised her to practice proper breathing and prepare for high notes.

Meanwhile, Miguel had to make adjustments with his piece to match his desired interpretation. The Romantic Crooner also had to produce ad libs to spice up his performance. Catch the others’ rehearsals later and see Direk Joey and Teacher Maribeth’s joined session with the scholars on Uberture!

Liezel goes back to her native land

Yesterday, Teacher Monet woke up Liezel early in the morning for a nice surprise. He informed the lass that there was another show she has to attend, but little did the said Scholar know that she would be heading her way towards her hometown for the said show.

To Liezel’s surprise, the road they treaded was a familiar track leading to the Batangas port—a passageway towards her very own Puerto Galera. The idea excited her, and seeing the Batangas port made her more thrilled to get on the boat. Batangas locals waved at her with great admiration as she passed by, and simply walking along in the middle of that crowd made her feel that she was finally home.

When she reached Puerto Galera, she was dumbfounded to see a large crowd waiting for her arrival. The moment she stepped foot on her native land, she was warmly welcomed by her fans who pledged to support her all the way.

Her first stop was the church, then she proceeded to her beloved grandmother’s grave to offer her some flowers and some prayers. Upon reaching the grave, she couldn’t help but get a little emotional. It has been years since her grandma passed away, but according to her, the pain of her departure will always remain fresh in her memory.

Aside from her grandma, another event that caused the Pride of Puerto Galera to breakdown in tears was her instant reunion with her mom. It has been a long time since the two of them saw each other, and the longing was pretty much evident on the way they locked themselves in each other’s arms.

After spending some time with her family, Liezel then proceeded with her show. She toured around her hometown to entertain the town’s locals by imparting them her talent. She also dropped by different schools in the area, including her alma mater, to show her gratitude for their unending support.

Liezel and Van face tough questions

Liezel and Van were interviewed by Billy on Uberture today. The Grand Dream Night was fast approaching and Van admitted to having mixed emotions about this. Though he was thrilled with the upcoming event, he would also miss his Acadreamian family. Van also adds that as soon as he returns to the outside world, he plans to make amends with his mother.

The Pride of Puerto Galera was caught off guard when asked about her just ok performances these past few weeks. After winning the Star Scholar title in 3 consecutive gala nights, people kind of had high expectations of her. However, she believed that the Star Scholar in her wasn’t completely lost but is actually pushing to be better.

After each short interview, Van sang, Before I Let You Go for his fan Angel Gaetos while Liezel sang her rendition of Cristina Aguilara’s I Turn To You for her fan Richard Espiritu.

Also on the show was Van’s one-on-one with Teacher Kitchy. The Heartthrob seemed to have difficulty with his piece, particularly in singing high notes. The Voice Mentor encouraged him further and Van committed to his rehearsals. Laarni is critiqued by the mentors

Laarni’s Uberture performance yesterday seemed to upset Teacher Kitchy and Teacher Monet since this damaged her voice. The Independent Woman appeared to put premium on putting on an impressive number without thought on the effects on her vocal chords.

The mentors expressed their concern with Laarni since she was building up an image similar to the belters in the music industry. Should the gal from Sultan Kudarat keep up this unhealthy practice and technique, it would result to inefficiency plus irreparable damages to her singing muscles.

Teacher Monet was especially worried about Laarni surviving the upcoming shows and out-of-town trips. Their schedule would be ultimately hectic and it would lessen the rest time needed by every performers. Laarni had to practice the right technique until it becomes natural for her also to compensate for the healthy lifestyle artists should imbibe. Scholars impersonate their Mentors

As another form of saying “thank you” to their Dream Mentors, the Top Six Scholars rewarded them plaques of appreciation last night. They awarded them based on the different ways they have touched their lives and their hearts. But to make the awarding ceremony a little more interesting, the Scholars thought that impersonating their Mentors would be fun—and based on the bursts of laughter they had last night, it seems that they got that right.

First to receive an award was no other than their in-house mentor, Teacher Monet. Laarni was the one tasked to mimic the said mentor, who they hailed on the plaque as their Giant Clown. From the way he walks to the trademarks he left to the Scholars, Laarni nailed it perfectly.

Being an admitted frustrated dancer, Mr. C was given a Happy Feet award. The Scholars just couldn’t forget the Headmaster’s interesting dance move which his impersonator, Miguel, showed while doing Mr. C’s favorite stance.

Liezel, on the other hand, did a fine job impersonating Teacher Kitchy. Aside from the mentor’s famous padded-shoulder get-up, Liezel almost made a replica of an actual scene during one of Teacher Kitchy’s class. Being famously known for her constant reminder regarding the Scholars’ breath flow, they had given her the Breath Flow award.

Though all presentations were found fascinating, it seems that Van’s spoof of Direk Joey made all of them fall off their seats. Among all, it seems that Van had the most heartfelt performance. He was really into the character that even his audience couldn’t deny that the lad is imitating their Media Performance Mentor—from the quotable statements to the unforgettable moves. Before actually receiving his More than Words award, Direk Joey still couldn’t help but laugh his heart out after seeing what his impersonator had to offer.

In less than a week time will be the actual good-bye, and the list of top three winners will be revealed. Headmaster’s List of 10 invades SM Bicutan!

The Headmaster’s List of 10 together with Poy amazed the huge crowd in their SM Bicutan mall show last Friday. All were in high spirits as they interacted with the audience and performed their recorded songs.

Iñaki and Apple hosted the event and were successful in enticing the crowd further for the appearance of the Top Six. The people cheered loudly for ex-scholars Bunny, Sen, Apple and Iñaki as they presented their well-loved pieces on stage.

As soon as Cris jumpstarted the final six’s solo performances, the crowd went wild. Miguel, Liezel, Bugoy, Van and Laarni followed after singing Mr. C’s originals. Ending the program was the scholars’ production number of Yeng Constantino’s, Awit ng Pangarap.

Though they were elated with their first mall show, nothing beat their mini-reunion backstage. The two groups hugged instantly upon meeting but they had to recover and compose themselves for the show. All were ecstatic at the warm reception of the people and are looking forward to more of these events.

Cris and Laarni were grilled by Billy on Uberture today. The PDA host brought out their competitive side by asking their advantage over the others. While Cris felt that her sexiness was her edge, Laarni was confident about her powerful voice. Both expressed their excitement on the upcoming Grand Dream Night since this would be the culminating event of all their efforts and hard work.

Meanwhile, ex-scholars Chivas and Bea facilitated a banner-making contest for the Little Dreamers. While the Top 6 were away on their mall show, the young dreamers created Good Luck posters for their ate’s and kuya’s. The scholars were moved by their effort and they treasured these posters.

Part of Miguel’s charity work was to guest in a radio station, WRR 101.9. The Romantic Crooner sang his original composition, Lupang Hinirang and invited everyone to download his ringtone. A percentage of the proceeds would help those affected by the conflict in the South and would be going to the Emergency Response Network in Mindanao. It has been fun-filled three-month experience for all of them. In such a short span of time, great ties had been made, and knowing that they will soon be parting ways gave a little room for nostalgia on both parties.

The Top Six couldn’t thank the Mentors more for their teachings and guidance. One by one, they shared their sentiments and reflections with regard to their stay inside the Academy. All couldn’t help but feel privileged to work with the Dream Mentors, who happen to be some of the music industry’s biggest names. During Bugoy’s turn, he couldn’t help but get a little emotional.

Aside from Bugoy, Teacher Kitchy too got a little off hand with her tears. She admitted that she got too attached to them, and merely thinking of the parting causes a mild pinch on her heart. According to her, she will never ever forget the times she shared with them, because she, too, learned a lot from them.

After all the Mentors thanked the Scholars alike for the experiences, they also gave them words to live by. According to them, a mixture of joy, sorrow and anxiety play around their systems as they think about the Scholars’ upcoming exit. Joy is for their victory; sorrow will be for their separation; and anxiety to the possible odds that they might face once they step out the Academy. They kept on reiterating that the real world is indeed cruel, most especially to showbiz commodities which they will soon become, so they better prepare themselves. They also kept on repeating that they will always be there for them, just like their real parents.

To lighten up the drama, the Scholars arranged a little surprise for their teachers. In honor of their Mentors and everything they have taught them, the Scholars prepared a short skit characterized by their impersonation of the Dream Team. Laarni played the role of Teacher Monet, while Van portrayed as Direk Joey. Who among them dared to mimic the Headmaster and Teacher Kitchy? The Little Dreamers dragged their admirable little-rock-star qualities as they faced the jurors, composed of Jimmy Antiporda, Aiza Seguerra, and Mcoy Fundales, on their 9^th Gala Performance Night. In honor of our country’s finest bands, the Little Dreamers performed renditions of some of their best hits.

The two returnees faced the panel of jurors once again—as official little dreamers. And once again the two kids proved that they are truly deserving as Shane wowed them with Imago’s Sundo and Jerome smoothly got through them with Makita kang Muli by Sugarfree.

Angelo sang The Dawn’s Salamat. And since the kid is an admitted rock genre aficionado, it was pretty apparent that he enjoyed his performance. Aiza saw that he is indeed a rock star in the making. On the other hand, though Cristina was able to give justice to the song Halleluia by Bamboo, the last part of her rendition was quite problematic.

Guest juror Mcoy was astounded to see a younger version of Sampaguita as Aubrey moved him with her version of Nosi Balasi. Aside from her rock goddess leather outfit, the impressive voice range of the child too left a mark on him.

After the Scholars’ Dream Bigayan Concert for a Cause, the Dream Mentors barged in the Academy to congratulate the Scholars for a wonderful show and join them for dinner. Their teachers couldn’t be happier with their performances tonight. For them, it was the best performance they had so far.

Direk Joey still couldn’t get over Miguel’s rapping though. According to him, before he even saw the Romantic Crooner on stage, he was already laughing his heart out. And since the mentors were on a riser earlier, Miguel admitted that he saw Direk Joey laughing upon his entrance on stage, causing him to divert his attention on the other side.

After dinner, Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab informed the Scholars of their activity for tonight. Given that they now only have a week before the Grand Dream Night, they had to work on it double time. Laarni, Bugoy and Van acquire screen names

Part of packaging and branding was creating name recall. Since Van, Bugoy and Laarni had quite unfamiliar last names, Direk Joey assigned them new screen names. Van Pojas would be Van Roxas while Bugoy Bugayan would be Bugoy Drilon. Lozada was more common than Losala and would thus make the Independent Woman more memorable.

Van seemed at ease with the change since he already considered this before. Bugoy on the other hand felt that it didn’t suit his personality and was quite uncomfortable with the modification. However, this change was crucial in their careers and they would have to adjust later on.

The Performance Master was also concerned with the scholars’ plans after the season. Though Van wanted to pursue a singing career, he would take on an acting job should there be an opportunity as opposed to Cris who was ready to engage in drama. Dream Bigayan Concert for a Cause is a success

The Top Six Scholars welcomed the screaming crowd in the performance hall to the Dream Bigayan Concert for a Cause with their own rendition of Eric Clapton’s Change the World. And since the said show was still considered their 12^th Gala Performance Night, they were still up to face the jury composed of Louie Ocampo and record label executive Kathleen Dy Go.

But unlike the previous Gala Nights, the jurors had no command on the Scholars’ grades tonight. Their role on tonight’s show was limited to merely observing and freely commenting on the Top Six Scholars’ presentations. Surprisingly, all the jurors could utter were positive responses after every performance. According to them, all the Scholars displayed great improvement, and they couldn’t be happier for all of them.

Kathleen couldn’t be more proud of Liezel who finally got out of her shell as she sang Rihanna’s dance hit Please Don’t Stop the Music. She also added that her improvement on dancing gave her an oozing international appeal. The same comment was given to Van who delivered True to Your Heart. With his good looks, Kathleen just couldn’t deny his registering well on television. As for Bugoy, she admitted that his unique dance step was a plus factor on his performance of Guy Sebastian’s All I Need is You.

On the other hand, Sir Louie finally saw Miguel having fun on stage, and he couldn’t be more thrilled. He added that at last, with his version of Rock DJ, he had fun watching him perform. Laarni too amazed him with her over flowing self-confidence as she sang Waray Waray. As for Cris who did a rendition of Pussycat Dolls’ Sway, her versatility as a singer made her admirable for Sir Louie. According to him, she could easily pull off any song given to her.

To the Scholars’ delight, the charity concert was a great success. By the end of the night, Toni announced that the concert earned a total of 226, 400 pesos, which will go directly to their Dream Bigayan project.

A few days before the Grand Dream Night, the Top Six Scholars unexpectedly received a very special message from a very special person. In the living room all six of them, together with Teacher Monet, gathered to watch the VTR prepared by no other than last season’s Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino.

To start with, Yeng toured the Scholars inside the house awarded to her by PinoyDreamAcademy. She let this season’s Scholars take a peek inside every room of her new home. After showing them around, she also showed them the car she bagged together with the house, a million pesos, and her title. She also openly shared how she spent the cash prize she received afterwards.

Being a former contestant, she imparted bits of advice to this season’s Top Six Scholars who are now just a few steps away from the top. She pushed them to continue dreaming big, just like what she did when she was still inside the Academy. According to her, believing is the main key to success, and it is something they should never grow tired of.

At the end of her VTR message, she bid all of them the best of luck. For the remaining days, she asked all of them to strive for the best in order to prove to the viewing public that they deserve to be the Grand Star Dreamer.

Top Six meets Avril Lavigne

Yesterday, the Scholars woke up for a nice surprise. After a whole day of non-stop listening to Avril Lavigne songs, the good news was relayed to them by Teacher Monet. All of them were asked to get ready and get dressed because they will be heading their way towards Araneta Coliseum to watch Avril Lavigne’s concert.

The said trip was an expository experience for the Scholars. Considering that their Grand Dream Night is fast approaching, they were given the opportunity to learn for themselves the elements of a good stage performance through critical observation.

All of them grew excited of the said exposure trip. Even inside the van, the Top Six couldn’t calm down. They still couldn’t believe that they were on their way to watch the international pop icon live on stage. Upon arrival on the destination, they were given a chance to meet the said pop star face to face and take snapshots for remembrance.

To the Top Six Scholars’ surprise, Avril Lavigne wasn’t the only celebrity who caused a commotion inside the Big Dome. Unexpectedly, they too were flooded by fans who wish to have their picture taken with them. They were indeed shocked. According to them, they haven’t expected such a big crowd of supporters.

Aside from the educational trip, the Scholar’s class with Direk Joey was intended to groom them for their finals night. For the said class, the media performance teacher highlighted to them the vitality of a performer’s individuality. According to him, they should be aware of their corresponding packages by now, so he called them out one by one to demonstrate each of it to him.

Direk Joey was impressed by Cris’ moves. Though it could still be improved, he saw that it is on its way there. He noted that she should further develop the way she invites the camera to behold as she does her thing.

On the other hand, Van failed to entertain the performance teacher. Direk Joey couldn’t help but notice that Van lacked freshness in terms of performing. He said that he had been doing the same dance steps over and over again—making his act boring as time goes by.

Little Dreamer Angelo surprised Billy on Uberture this afternoon with his straightforward answers. The young dreamer admitted that he wasn’t hurt at all after being turned down by his crush Kelly. When asked who his new crush was, Angelo answered boldly that it was Nikki Gil in an attempt to tease Billy who is currently being linked to his fellow PDA host.

Angelo, on the other hand, believes that his Ate Laarni possesses extraordinary talent to win the Grand Star Dreamer title. But when it came to the little dreamers, Philip was his bet. After the short interview with Billy, two-time Outstanding Little Dreamer Angelo sang his winning piece, I Want to Break Free by Queen.

Also on the show was the scholars’ presentation of their Top 6 rankings. Miguel felt that Laarni had showbiz opportunities and was deserving of the second spot. Bugoy and Van have Grand Dream Night jitters

Bugoy and Van were awakened this morning by the voice over of people naming their bets among the scholars. Some would want Van and Miguel to win because of their exceptional talent while the others believed Cris and Laarni had improved a lot. Others placed their votes on Bugoy and Liezel since they had a distinct quality to their voice.

The two then were anxious about the upcoming Grand Dream Night and they tried evaluating themselves. Van observed that his voice was a bit weak compared to the others. Bugoy however convinced him that the rock genre doesn’t require a strong voice quality. Convinced by his best bud, he finally decided that each was competent in their own genre.

Another worry of the Cebuano Heartthrob was the people’s choice on who deserves to be the Grand Star Dreamer. It seemed to him that their talent wasn’t a huge factor in the public’s decision. Though they were presenting different genres and seemed to do a pretty good job in their craft, it still boils down to what the majority wants. Uberture host Billy was quite stunned when Little Dreamer Risie revealed that she wanted to buy a yacht for herself with her earnings. Though it was top priority to help her family, she finds a yacht useful in traveling back and forth to her hometown in Palawan.

When asked who among the Little Dreamers deserved to win, she believes Philip has the most potential. As for the scholars, she thought highly of Bugoy’s talent and felt he was worthy of the Grand Star Dreamer title.

Meanwhile, the Acadreamians patted each other’s backs in their Media Performance class. As a confidence booster for the scholars, they would have to tell things they appreciated about their partner. Competition is getting fiercer in the Academy and the pressure to win is slowly rising. Before it intensifies, Direk Joey reminded them to put priority on their friendship. Aside from this, they should nurture their individuality and be confident to present this to the public.

Grand Dream Night is just around the corner and all the lessons they have acquired would finally be tested. Instead of wanting to succeed and overpower their competition, the scholars should set standard for themselves in being better performers.

The Performance Master warned them of the necessary adjustments they had to make when they set out into the real world. The entertainment business is undeniably harsher than the environment they have been enclosed with for 13 weeks. The scholars should learn to experiment and offer variety to the public. Not only should they improve themselves further but also remain attuned to the preferences of the audience.

Last night, the Top Six Scholars had a chance to evaluate their over-all performance all throughout their stay inside the Academy. Aside from assessing themselves, they were given a chance to evaluate their co-Scholars performances as well. Based on these assessments they had, they were requested to rank themselves accordingly on the numbered white board where their pictures were situated.

Cris awarded the Grand Star Dreamer title to Laarni. She decided to rank herself third, next to Bugoy, because she claims that among all of them, she has been the most improved. According to her, she intentionally didn’t aim for the top two positions because she is already certain that the two names she placed there truly deserves it more than she does. Bugoy agreed with Cris’ top two. He admitted that he is threatened by Laarni’s edge, technique-wise, but he claimed that he intends to use this threat to his advantage by challenging himself to strive harder and reach the top.

Laarni thought the other way around. For her, Bugoy is currently on the top position, followed by Liezel. She only ranked herself third because she believed that she still lacked what it takes to be hailed a Grand Star Dreamer. In between her sobs, she uttered that maybe her talent could only go as far as top three, but given the chance, she admits that she really wants to make it to number one.

Same with Laarni, Van and Liezel thought that Bugoy is currently on the roll inside the Academy. Though the Pride of Puerto Galera is confident with the uniqueness of her voice, she is not really sure if it is enough to make her worthy of the prestigious title. Van thought the same way. He claimed that he already gave his best shot, and it seems that it will never be enough to at least be of the same caliber with Bugoy’s.

Among all six of them, Miguel was the only brave soul who put his own name on the top most position. According to him, he is only being true to himself. He said that he is really determined to claim the title because it is the main reason why he joined the competition in the first place.

The Academy averaged all the Scholars’ ratings to come up with an unofficial ranking of the Academy’s Top Six. Bugoy was on the lead, followed by Laarni on second, then Liezel on third, while Van occupied the fourth place, and Miguel and Cris share the fifth spot.

Little Dreamer Cristina is grateful for a second chance at life

At an early age of four, Cristina was diagnosed with an illness that caused an abscess to grow in her intestine. She underwent an operation and is very grateful for surviving the grueling process. The young dreamer was glad to have another shot at living life and for the chance to share her talent.

Cristina aspires to provide a better life for her family though her parents don’t want to capitalize on her talent. She is very determined however to reach her goal of being the Grand Star Little Dreamer to provide for them.

Also on Uberture today was Bugoy’s concern about the changing quality of his voice. He tried using a vaporizer to clear his voice tract. Teacher Monet noticed Bugoy’s worry and recommended him to sing on a lower scale.

Teacher Maribeth expresses disappointment with the scholars

Teacher Maribeth was terribly disappointed with the scholars’ opening number last Saturday. Laarni and Cris seemed out of focus while Liezel appeared to have a hard time walking in her footwear. The rest weren’t synchronized with their steps. Though they were reminded to enjoy the song and dance number, they were stiff and robotic with their movements.

The Dance Coach also noticed that it wasn’t as lively and energetic as she expected it to be. She believed that the musical wasn’t well interpreted which resulted to a quite catastrophic presentation.

In the nearing concert for a cause, Teacher Maribeth was expecting more from the Top Six. She warned them of the difficulty and encouraged them to step up. To minimize confusion and mistakes, she incorporated familiar steps from their hip-hop class with Teacher Georcelle.

Scholars get involved with gift-giving

After last Saturday’s Gala Night, the Scholars had their very first autograph signing experience. In line with the launching of their debut album entitled Scholars Sing Cayabyab, the Academy’s Top Six spent a moment with some of their fans outside the Academy.

When they got back inside, all six of them just couldn’t help but feel Sen’s loss. All of them missed the presence of the Cancer Survivor, so when the said lad dropped by the Academy to pick up some of his stuff and bid them farewell, they couldn’t be more excited. Before the latest expelled Scholar headed out the door, his Academy best bud Bugoy handed over a good-bye present to him—a copy of the original song composition, entitled Basta Ikaw.

Aside from Sen, Bugoy’s parents too had a taste of his generosity. Yesterday, Bugoy had seen the video of his parents in Camarines Sur as they received all 48 chickens he had earned through an activity he performed last week. The Farmer’s Son got a little teary-eyed as he watched them on screen. They couldn’t be more delighted for the blessing they received through their son and his Academy best friends who helped him—Sen and Van.

Giving seems to be a trait that all the Scholars share. As the Academy’s Top Six, all of them are on full support to a charitable campaign that they refer to as Dream BIGayan. Proceeds from all the activities they will hold will be donated to selected charities that the Scholars chose themselves. Included in the said collection of activities is their upcoming concert-for-a-cause that will be held on September 8 at the Performance Hall. Sen speaks on Uberture

The Top Six’s charity program, Dream Bigayan was launched today on Uberture. Late this afternoon the scholars cooked up a storm for some street children from Cebu as part of Van’s charity assignment. Ex-PDA scholars Bunny, Iñaki, Poy and Sen assisted in the feeding program and were more than happy to be serving the young ones.

7^th placer Hansen was also interviewed on the show. Close to being part of the final batch, Sen feels that he can still learn a lot from the remaining last two weeks of the competition. Were he given the opportunity to stay in the Acadmemy, he would have wanted to help kids with cancer. He believes that this illness robs the kids of their childhood and he wanted to restore in them the passion to live. Billy tried grilling Sen about his closeness with Cris but the ex-scholar turned the tables on him and caught him flustered over a question on Nikki Gil.

Tonight, while the Scholars were in the middle of enjoying their rest day, Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab barged in the Academy and hustled the Scholars to put on their best clothes because they would be heading towards one of ABS-CBN’s studios.

As a part of their debut album’s promotional activities, the Academy’s Top six were invited to play in one of the network’s renowned game show hosted by Cesar Montano—The Singing Bee. The Scholars grew excited and double-timed in preparing themselves.

Liezel immediately refreshed her memory of the game’s mechanics. Bugoy attentively listened to her because he admitted that he is not really familiar with the said show. The good news made everyone hyper, including Mr. C. The Headmaster gladly told them that this is just the beginning of the wonderful career that awaits them once school is out.

All the proceeds they will be accumulating from the said game show will go straight to the charitable institutions they enlisted to the Dream BIGayan project, so the Headmaster encouraged the Scholars to do their best.

Before they even left for the taping, Mr. C couldn’t help but tease Miguel. The Little Dreamers’ 8^th Gala Night served as the Academy’s venue to give the ex-Little Dreamers another chance to prove themselves deserving of a scholarship. To show their great enthusiasm towards the said opportunity, Shane, Leon, Jerome, Nikki, Dean, and Kelly prepared a short production number—a song and dance number to the beat of Grease 2’s OST entitled Back to School Again.

Once again, the expelled Little Dreamers took the stage and impressed the panel of jurors composed by Jimmy Antiporda, Wency Cornejo and Kitchy Molina. Shane went first with her rendition of Charice Pempengco’s It can Only Get Better. Despite her few flats, juror Jimmy was indeed wowed by her outstanding performance.

Leon amused the jurors, most especially Wency, with his former audition piece entitled Fallin’. The said juror commended his amazing breath flow and enunciation. Teacher Kitchy, on the other hand, couldn’t be happier upon seeing great improvement on Jerome’s facial muscles. Given that he had been out of the Academy for a long period of time, she found it quite amusing that the child still remembers his mentors’ teachings.

Probably brought by nervousness, Nikki had problems getting the right notes. The same happened to Dean, with Juror Wency noting that his constant movements to Gary V’s Hataw Na attributed to his not hitting the right notes. Kelly, on the other hand, had trouble with her modulation.

The jurors agreed that all six kids did well, but only two slots are to be filled. Luckily for Shane and Jerome, the jurors awarded them the highest scores and their scholarships back.

Teacher Kitchy evaluates the Top 6

Now that the scholars are down to the final six, Teacher Kitchy was particular about polishing the scholars into precious gems of the industry. The Voice Mentor reminded them that they had to learn how to mingle with different kinds of people and earn their liking and trust. Apart from this, they had to adapt to various shows and productions.

Teacher Kitchy was concerned with keeping their interest in singing alive. Also, they had to remain grounded and focused on their goal. As soon as they let fame and popularity get to them, this would certainly be their downfall.

The Voice Coach then evaluated their Gala night and ASAP performances. Zhel seemed mesmerized with celebrity, Nina and lost confidence beside her. Though her performance was satisfactory, she had to improve on stage presence.

Bugoy and Laarni on the other hand failed to build rapport with their partners. Bugoy was quite detached but Gary V. assisted him during the performance. In the end, they were able to interact and produce a fine number.

While Van could still do a better job with his performance, Cris nailed hers. Miguel however, seemed to distrust the capability of his voice. Instead of taking risks and aiming for high notes, he would rather settle for a passing mark. Teacher Kitchy pointed out each flaws in hope to better their following performances. Scholars revisit ASAP ‘08

Previous Star Scholars Liezel, Laarni and Bugoy had the chance again to sing with huge celebrities on ASAP ’08. The three exuded an air of confidence as soon as they stepped on stage and stood beside their pair.

The Pride of Puerto Galera performed with Soul Siren Nina. Singing “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing”, Liezel was all out in her number and was truly dazzling on stage.

Laarni finally got her wish when she had her showdown with Sheryn Regis. The Independent Woman internalized her piece, “Starting Over Again” and appeared emotional all throughout the song. Van was particularly impressed with her and praised her for a job well done when they went back into the Academy.

Bugoy seemed comfortable grooving with Mr. Pure Energy. The Farmer’s Son sang Gary V.’s original, “Di Bale Na Lang” and was able to add an R&B flavor to it.

Sen’s expulsion saddens Cris

After the Gala Night, Cris couldn’t help but burst into tears while Van was at the peak of celebrating. Sen’s expulsion from the Academy greatly affected the lass and she preferred to remain silent while her co-Scholars continued with their usual chit chat.

When Sen dropped by the Academy to get his stuff, it was pretty obvious he was avoiding contact with the Singing Interior Designer. He said to himself that he wanted to avoid shedding tears so he tried to keep the good-byes less dramatic as possible. After bidding short farewells, he immediately grabbed his things and headed out the door. Cris, too, tried to keep her cool. She is certain that they could see each other again after two weeks time, so she tried to convince herself that it’s a little sacrifice she has to do.

Aside from Cris, Bugoy too went a little emotional about Sen’s exit. After dinner, Teacher Monet caught the Farmer’s Son lost in deep thought, staring blankly ahead of him. The mentor tried to talk the lad out of his gloom. Teacher Monet admitted that he is also saddened by the Cancer Survivor’s departure, but that’s just how the competition works.

Tomorrow, Bugoy, together with Laarni and Liezel, will be performing live in ASAP. Could his gloomy mood tonight affect his performance tomorrow? Van completes the Academy’s Final Six

The public has spoken; Van will be occupying the final spot in the Academy’s official list of Final Six. After collecting 54.58 percent of the total text votes, the Heartthrob from Cebu has proven himself worthy of taking a shot at this season’s Grand Star Dreamer title.

During the 11^th Gala Night, the lad from Cebu impressed the jurors with his rendition of Casting Crown’s Who I am. Juror Girlie Rodis couldn’t help but commend on how he has improved since she first saw him on stage. The judge was pretty much aware of how heavy the lad’s chest is due to accumulated hitches and she proudly stated that it didn’t show in his performance tonight.

Actually, everyone did a good job last night. Since they were given the chance to freely choose their songs, they didn’t have a hard time relaying their messages to the audience. All of them were able to give out heartfelt performances.

With Laarni’s version of I am Blessed, juror Louie Ocampo couldn’t help but agree more with the song’s message. He said that Laarni was indeed blessed with a great voice and predicted that she was definitely going to be part of the contest’s Top 3. The same comment went to last week’s Star Scholar Bugoy, who sang Can’t Stop a River.

Liezel, who was a consistent Star Scholar in the first few gala nights, finally found a new way to present her self. Louie Ocampo admitted that she was oozing with x-factor tonight with her presentation of Celine Dion’s Goodbye’s (the Saddest Word). On the other hand, Miguel’s interpretation of Sandra amazed Girlie Rodis, but she claimed that it could have been better if he improved on the storytelling part.

To make the night more exciting, the Scholars performed in an opening production number to the tune of Hairspray soundtrack entitled You can’t Stop the Beat. Aside from that, they also held the official launching of their very first album—Scholars Sing Cayabyab. Proceeds from the said album and upcoming mall shows will be donated to the Scholars’ chosen charitable institutions.

Scholars display fiery passion for fashion

Tonight, the Scholar’s make-up application lecture with Barbie Chan was put to test as they prepared for an impromptu fashion show sponsored by Rough Rider Jeans. The said activity was entitled Passion for Fashion. All of them were given bags full of RRJ apparel and accessories that they could mix and match in order to come up with a full blown fashion statement.

After picking the right clothes and the complimenting frills, they all brought the statements to life by transforming the dance hall into an instant runway. One by one, the Scholars hit the catwalk and gave out their best poses for the camera, hoping to bag the P10,000 prize. The girls went in first, then the boys. All of them used all the clothes and accessories available to express their personalities through style.

The criteria for judging included the over-all attire’s practicality, individuality and uniqueness, ability to set a trend, and effectiveness of color combination and contrast. Laarni is singled out by Teacher Maribeth

In dance class this afternoon, Laarni seemed to lack presence of mind as she appeared to construct her own choreography. Missing steps consistently caught Teacher Maribeth’s attention and she finally singled her out from the rest.

The Independent Woman repeated the dance steps a few times until she satisfied the Dance Coach’s standard. However, she seemed to lose her confidence in dancing and was quite unsure of herself. Much later she started to get a hang of the activity and was soon enjoying the choreography.

The production number was a test of the scholars’ coordination as a group. Since it would also be their opening number, Teacher Maribeth reminded everyone to keep their energy high. They should be pleasant to watch and their movements should be sharp and accurate. The girls especially should learn to exaggerate and also coordinate among themselves to synchronize their steps. Teacher Monet flares up

The Scholars received an assignment from Teacher Monet the other day. He asked all the girls to work on the song Respect by Anita Franklin, while the boys had to learn Billy Joel’s She’s Always a Woman to Me. During their supposed practice yesterday, the said mentor got furious upon knowing that some of the Scholars didn’t do their homework.

Unfortunately for Laarni, she was special mentioned under the delinquent students’ category, since among all the Scholars who failed to do their assignment she was the first one who caught Teacher Monet’s attention. Aside from her unfamiliarity with the song’s lyrics, it was also evident in the practice that she didn’t study the song at all because she was improvising her own rendition. She wasn’t gelling at all with the two lasses, Cris and Liezel, who came in class ready for recitation.

As the practice went on, Teacher Monet grew more disappointed. During the boys’ turn to show what they got, the mentor realized that they were actually no different from Laarni. He was indeed enraged by some of these Scholars stubbornness. Being the Academy’s Top Seven, he assumed that he could expect more from them.

Aside from plain stubbornness, Teacher Monet also played with the thought that the Scholars are probably growing too comfortable with him. He admitted that he was angered by the idea that they are not exerting as much effort to his class like they do in their other classes—causing him to walk out on them.

Aside from Teacher Monet’s fury, another issue that bothered the Scholars was the mystery text message they found posted on the bulletin board after their class. Acadreamians record their first album

On the show this afternoon was a sneak peek at the Acadreamians’ first ever album, which will be released on Saturday. All were energetic and lively as they sang a medley composed by the Headmaster. Each Scholar was also assigned a song and the scholars gave justice to the heartfelt lyrics written by Mr. C himself.

Also on Uberture were ex-Little Dreamers Dean and Kelly. The two would be contending against four of their schoolmates and they were determined to land a spot in the Academy once more. Both had been devoting time in doing facial massages and rehearsing their pieces.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Expulsion Night continues to worry Van and Sen. Sen sought out the advice of Cris, while the Cebuano Heartthrob asked suggestions from Bugoy. The former wanted to create a solemn and emotional number but was anxious that his best bud would outdo him in performing. Would both take the competition personally and sacrifice their friendship? Proper Grooming with Barbie Chan

Expert hair and make-up stylist Barbie Chan visited the Acadreamians to tip them on proper grooming. Soon to be public figures, the scholars had to maintain a clean and polished look even off camera. Barbie then taught them how to survive without make-up artists by revealing the trick to a fabulous five-minute make-up.

The pro stylist advised them that less is indeed more and good make-up should just enhance their features. The ladies should refrain from overdoing it and look as naturally as possible. To further demonstrate her point, Cris willingly obliged to volunteer as the model for women while Miguel represented the men.

After learning the do’s and don’ts of grooming, the Acadreamians had the chance to apply these. For 10 minutes, they hustled and bustled about creating their new do. Though Barbie was amazed at the first timers’ creation, she was particularly impressed with Van.

When it came to discovering their trademark look, the scholars had to know their dominant personality. It was crucial for their image to be consistent with how they act and present themselves.

Van and Cris felt they were rebellious while Sen and Laarni were more shy, mysterious and pleasant. If Bugoy knew he was a comedian at heart, Liezel wanted to be glamorous and sophisticated. Ex-Little Dreamers Jerome and Nikki vie for a slot in the Academy

Expelled Little Dreamers Jerome and Nikki performed live on Uberture today. The two have been practicing non-stop for the upcoming Gala Night in order to earn their scholarship back in the Academy. While Jerome revealed that he had been practicing in front of the mirror, Nikki had been polishing on vocalizations.

Also on the show this afternoon was the scholars’ very playful mood yesterday. Bugoy’s stole a kiss from Liezel which inspired him to sing a heartfelt song. However, Zhel confessed that she was quite offended by Bugoy’s actions. Cris and Sen on the other hand shared a romantic moment when Miguel attempted to lock them in the restroom.

Later that day, the scholars were tasked to organize a musical production. All were devoted to the activity and immediately set to work. Will the scholars also prove to possess talent for acting? Direk Joey scolds the Scholars

In his media performance class yesterday, Direk Joey gave out his fatal blows regarding the Scholars’ Gala Night performances last Saturday. He cared less with the Scholars emotions as long as he could express his great disappointment with some of them.

The media performance mentor still had problems with Miguel. According to him, though there was an improvement on the Romantic Crooner’s presentation, his stage presence remained cold and blunt. He still wasn’t able to overcome his bad habit of singing as if he is older than his age.

On the other hand, Direk Joey couldn’t deny Cris’ sexiness on stage. He agrees that the lass has that X-factor that could make men stop for a while and watch her every move on stage. His problem with her, on the other hand, was her tendency to overdo it. Based on his opinion, the Singing Interior Designer’s excessive flirting makes her look like a transvestite on stage, so he advised her to be conscious with her actions.

Among all the Scholars, Van received the most terrorizing sermon of them all. With his duet with Kitchie Nadal, Direk Joey couldn’t help but be enraged. He claimed that what Van did to his partner was indeed disrespectful. The way he made Kitchie look like his back-up singer is very unpleasant. Direk Joey understood that he may have been too pumped up, but he claimed that it isn’t an excuse to humiliate his celebrity counterpart.

After his lecture, Direk Joey gave out few pointers to the Scholars who will soon be facing the pressures of being in the Top Six. Since they were given the privilege of choosing their songs for the next Gala Nights, the media performance mentor told them to make the most out of it. In terms of choosing their songs, they were advised to maintain a pacing on their performances--in order to maintain an element of surprise.He also added that at this point in the competition, the Scholars’ main goal should be collecting supporters that will support them all through out until the big dream night. The scholars discovered more about the entertainment industry from professional dance choreographer, Teacher Maribeth. All were intent on learning about the nooks and crannies of the business and were active participants in today’s session.

The Dance Coach was all for the scholars taking hold of their lives as they leave the Academy. Though they could rely on the network authorities to provide them with projects, it was better to take responsibility in seeking various career paths.

Aside from this, the scholars should learn how to do their own research on different music genres. Since they would soon be considered professional singers, they had to be armed with knowledge on these matters.

When it comes to performing, they themselves should enjoy their pieces and be confident about their interpretation. It was about time for them to showcase every technique and learning from their mentors.

Teacher Maribeth also taught them the value of presence of mind. Should they perform in a duet, the scholars should be aware of their partners and refrain from overpowering them. If they happen to experience an accident on stage, it was still crucial to maintain composure and conduct themselves as though nothing has happened.

The scholars listened attentively to their Dance Coach and provided situations they had been wondering about. Teacher Maribeth answered each thoroughly and rested their concerns. Little Dreamers get a second chance

It was announced last Sunday that next week, the six expelled Little Dreamers will have another shot at getting the Little Grand Star Dreamer title. The two Little Dreamers who will get the highest score from the judges will once again regain their scholarships.

Ex-Little Dreamers Shane and Leon were excited with the possibility of joining their friends in the Academy once again. The two kids were on performance level mode as they sang their former gala pieces on Uberture.

Also on the show this afternoon was Laarni’s crash course on internalization. Liezel seemed to lack emotion whenever she performs and she finally decided to do something about it. She then approached Laarni and sought advice from her fellow Scholar. The Independent Woman told Liezel to draw from experiences on failing her family or even God. She pointed out that emotions do not necessarily have to be related to love or heartbreak. Should she lack personal experiences, she could try absorbing the problems of her peers and pretend to put herself in their shoes. Liezel gave it a shot and demonstrated an emotion-filled number to her co-scholar.

Later that evening, Teacher Monet facilitated a dating game for the scholars. Maribeth Bichara instructs the Acadreamians

The Acadreamians were too stunned to speak as they saw PDA Season One Dance Mentor, Maribeth Bichara awaiting them in the studio. Everyone fell in line and anticipated the following activities.

Soon, they were asked to introduce themselves with attitude. One by one the scholars strutted their stuff on the dance floor and struck unique poses. Zhel particularly seemed confident and her classmates took notice of this as they cheered her on.

After which, Teacher Maribeth gathered the dreamers and gave out pointers on performing. She stressed the importance of respect, dedication and the passion to succeed. The Dance Coach discouraged the scholars from comparing themselves with other artists. Each had their own style apart from them having different ways of affecting their audience.

One thing she noticed about the current batch though, was that they lacked presence. The scholars still needed to focus on creating character and attitude on stage to arrest the attention of the people. Also, Teacher Maribeth urged them to try everything in the industry and refrain from saying ‘no’ and they ‘don’t know how to’.

With the scholars renewed drive to succeed, they were determined than ever to go all out in their fast opening number for the upcoming Gala night. Van shows poor class performance

In the Scholars’ class with Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab tonight, they were taught how to sing with power. According to the Headmaster, with the finals night but a few weeks away, the Scholars were forced to learn how to sing with intense command. All of them lacked the right amount of energy to come up with a great show, and this is what Mr. C wanted them to focus on.

After the said activity, the Acadremians rehearsed a new piece Mr. C himself arranged. The said collection was a compilation of classic OPM hits like Kung Ako Na Lang Sana, Sana Maulit Muli, Kahit Isang Saglit, Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga, and Dito Ba. One by one, he asked the Scholars to sing their parts. All did a good job, that is except for Van.

In the said rehearsal, it seemed as if Van was out of focus. Aside from his poor knowledge of the song, he also had a slight problem with breathing so the Headmaster decided to pay special attention on him. His expression of emotions, too, was somehow problematic. Could his probationary status affecting his performance in class? Van and Sen mentor the Little Dreamers

Last weekend, Van and Sen were tasked to conduct dance lessons for the Little Dreamers. Inspired by Teacher Georcelle’s moves, the two lads went on dancing like pros. To start with, they initiated the warm up exercises. The two stood in front of the Little Dreamers so that they could easily imitate their moves. After the warm up exercises, they proceeded with the ramp posing activity. They administered the kids to fall in line and walk across the room and strike their best poses.

After walking their runway, the Little Dreamers were divided into two groups. One team was headed by Sen, while the other was held by Van. Sen’s group consisted of Angelo, Risie, Aubrey, and Amy. And since there were only seven of them, Van only had three members in his group, namely Philip, Kelly and Christina. As team leaders, Van and Sen were in charge of teaching the kids new dance routines, which they later on performed in front of all their Ate and Kuya who served as their jurors. Though they lack in numbers, Van’s team still won the competition with a total score of 45.

The best buds seemed to have worked well in mentoring the Little Dreamers in dance class, but it didn’t end the opposition raised by their probationary status. While they were hanging out at the garden, Sen joked Van regarding leaving the Academy. In a mocking tone, he told the Heartthrob to voluntarily exit instead of waiting until Saturday. Van didn’t mind the joke, but it was evident on his face that he wasn’t comfortable with the topic.

Back inside, Van couldn’t help but ask for reassurances from his co-Scholars. While playing around, Van tried to fish support from Bugoy and Cris. He asked them who they would prefer to stay inside the Academy. Since the two Scholars are close to both lads, they chose to keep their opinions to themselves in order to avoid unwanted issues. Poy and Iñaki anticipate the Grand Dream Night

Expelled Scholar Iñaki and Honorary Scholar Poy visited Billy on Uberture today. The two were in high spirits as they invited the fans to attend the Grand Dream Night which will be held on September 13. Billy grilled Iñaki though on his controversial relationship with Cris, to which he admitted missing the Singing Interior Designer, who has become a very good friend. Poy, on the other hand confessed that she was frustrated in failing to get a regular scholarship in the Academy. But as an Honarary Scholar, Poy is proud that she has accomplished her goals and that is for the scholars to improve themselves because of the competition.

Meanwhile, the Little Dreamers also had the chance to meet KC Concepcion. Everyone had the chance to perform for KC and all gave their absolute best. KC applauded Aubrey for easily conveying the message of her piece. Cristina however, KC thought she had to limit her movements and focus more on her singing. KC particularly enjoyed Angelo’s performance but he had yet to slow down and decrease his energy level.

Sen gets emotional with his Gala night piece

For the next Gala night, the scholars would have the authority to choose their songs on the condition that it should be close to their heart and it has the power to transform their audience. All instantly scribbled their favorite pieces and soon presented these to the mentors. While the others seemed detached with their song picks, Sen got emotional with his.

Among all his choices, the Cancer Survivor decided on His Eye is on the Sparrow by Lauren Hill. Even before he demonstrated his pick to the class, he broke down in tears. The song reminded him of an experience from the past and he couldn’t help but get emotional. Teacher Kitchy sympathized with Hansen as she brushed off a tear.

The mentors then set that moment as an example to the scholars who had a hard time making a decision. Like Sen, the piece should showcase their feelings and their capabilities. One crucial element was that they themselves should be moved by the song to be able to affect their listeners.

As the scholars thought of these, Teacher Monet expressed his observation of them. It seemed as though tension was brewing in the Academy and the atmosphere was quite heavy. Van’s post-probation depression

Yesterday’s Probation Night still depresses Van. The Heartthrob still couldn’t believe that he is at risk of losing his dream on Saturday. To make this matter worse--if he does lose it--he will be losing it to his best friend in the Academy, Sen.

Inside the boys’ room, the lad couldn’t help but release his frustrations on Bugoy. He feels so disappointed that after all his hard work these past few weeks, a slight crash on his performance last night cost him everything he had worked for. Van couldn’t help but talk to Bugoy with a slight tone of envy.

On the other hand, Sen was having the same conversation with Cris. He kept on repeating to the lass that he badly wants to stay and be part of the Top Six. He was pretty much hopeful that his co-Taguig residents will support him.

Aside from wishful thinking, Sen couldn’t help but share to the Singing Interior Designer a few of his observations. He admitted that he never fails to miss some notes during performances. Unfortunately, these sharps and flats never miss the jurors’ ears either. According to him, he couldn’t understand why some of their co-Scholars could get away with the same mistakes and he couldn’t.

Van and Sen somehow grew distant of each other since this morning. Unlike before where they are almost inseparable, the two now prefer to mingle with other Scholars. A Tina Turner hit entitled What’s Love Got to Do, plus a remarkable voice quality, earned Amy another chance on the Outstanding Little Dreamer title on their 7^th Gala Night themed after iconic interpretation. Though she had little troubles with diction, the 6-year old kid from Las Piñas was able to wow the two resident jurors, Jimmy Antiporda and Aiza Seguerra. The latter even jokingly questioned the child’s age since she sings too well for her age.

The Little Dreamers’ 7^th Gala Night was indeed full of surprises. Aside from Amy’s performance and the other Little Dreamers’ show stopping iconic interpretations, another act shook the performance hall last night. Since it was show host Nikki Gil’s birthday, Billy Crawford, who happens to be the birthday girl’s special someone, went up on stage to offer her a bouquet of flowers.

Based on last week’s Gala Night, on the other hand, Kelly and Risie were placed in an awkward position after both received a needs improvement grade. Luckily for Risie, the viewing public had decided to keep her in the Academy after gathering 58.38 percent of the total text votes.

After five accumulated probations, Kelly finally bid the Academy goodbye. It could have been the end of her journey towards her dream, if not for the good news that Nikki brought. Luckily for Kelly and all other expelled Little Dreamers, they will be given another shot to try their luck inside the Academy. According to Nikki, there will be a Back to School Round next week, thus no expulsion shall take place. In the said round, all expelled Little Dreamers will be competing against each other for another chance inside the Academy, and two possible returnees will be taken in. The Academy’s finest meets ASAP’s pride

While the scholars were cooking up a storm early this afternoon, the bell alarmed signaling Laarni’s performance on ASAP ‘08. Everyone immediately gathered in the living room and was soon glued to the television. All were awe struck at the powerful voices they were beholding and they gushed on about how captivating their fellow scholar was.

Laarni was truly a star as she shone in her showdown with ASAP’s pride, Zsa Zsa Padilla. She sang a heartfelt rendition of Hiram and had no inhibitions in expressing emotions. She continued to internalize all throughout the performance and was able to execute lessons she learned in the Academy.

The Independent Woman was exhilarated with the experience and was very proud to be doing a duet with the renowned Divine Diva. Zsa Zsa was equally pleased with their number and she acknowledged Laarni’s fantastic interpretation of the piece. Before they parted, she reminded Laarni to continue inspiring people with her music.

Best friends Sen and Van are this week’s probees

The jurors composed of Louie Ocampo, Gerard Salonga and Dulce were stunned tonight --not by the overwhelming celebrity performances, but by the astonishing improvements that the Scholars displayed on their duets with celebs. They were indeed awed by the Scholars performances on their 10^th Gala Night, considering that they were placed side by side with some of the music industry’s strong voices.

Among all of them, Bugoy stood out with a final grade of 9.81, which also gained him the Star Scholar title. The jurors and the Dream Mentors were without a doubt wowed by his duet with Vina Morales.

Unfortunately for Poy, who wasn’t able to grab the Star Scholar title for the last time, she had to say goodbye to her co-Scholars, ending her stay in the Academy as an Honorary Scholar. Other than Poy, Iñaki too had to bid the Academy and his scholarship good-bye. Based on the viewing public’s decision, Miguel deserves a second chance inside the Academy, getting 75.97 percent of the total text votes.

Aside from the great performances and sad goodbyes, another shocker that turned the Academy upside down was the announcement of some modification on the probation process. Unlike before where the Academy announces the Bottom Four where two have a chance to be saved, now, they only called the names of the Bottom Two Scholars who will immediately fill in the probationary slots. Unluckily for best buds Sen and Van, who received final grades of 7.29 and 7.3, they have to battle it out with each other this week.

With Sen and Van having, successively, they are this week’s official Probationary Scholars. Who between the two of them deserve to stay inside the Academy and be part of the Final Six? Probees’ extended birthday bash

Still in line with the Probee birthday boys’ birthday week, a surprise celebration was held yesterday. Aside from good food set on the table, the two lads were shocked to see that some members of their families were there to celebrate with them. The two boys’ fathers and siblings welcomed them with warm birthday greetings and tight hugs. After their mushiness, they all gathered in the dining area to blow the cake candles and feast over the sumptuous meals.

Other than their families, Miguel and Iñaki’s friends also stopped by the Academy to greet them on their special day. The probees were somehow tricked into a supposed band rehearsal, only to find out that their friends are nonchalantly hanging out in the waiting area.

The Probationary Scholars couldn’t be more thankful for all the surprises they’ve been receiving for the past few days. Though both of them are threatened by the fact that one of them has to go this Saturday, they couldn’t help but enjoy their possible last week in the Academy.

Surprisingly, the birthday boys weren’t the only ones who were up for surprises. After their band rehearsal yesterday, the Scholars’ celebrity partners took the chance to give their break-a-leg presents to their counterparts—small gifts that could somehow help them prepare for the upcoming Gala Night.

Van received a journal from Kitchie Nadal. According to her, keeping a journal could help him with song compositions. Laarni, on the other hand, got a rosary from Jed Madela. Patterned to his personal belief, he claimed that carrying one could give the Independent Woman all the strength she needs. Bugoy, Sen and Miguel were given pei pa kwa, honey and apples, correspondingly, to help them relax their throats before a performance. As for Poy, Cris, Liezel, and Iñaki, their gifts happened to be what their partners refer to as comfort food. Based on their explanation, it is a performer’s privilege to indulge himself to something he really wants after putting on a good show.

KC says hello to Billy

KC Concepcion dropped by the Academy this afternoon to catch up with “old flame” Billy Crawford and to promote her movie For The First Time, which will be showing in theaters this August 27. Aside from this, she also announced that she would be giving the scholars a pep talk this Monday inside the Academy.

Also making it on Uberture today was the scholars’ rendition of a classic song, Shadow of Your Smile. While Van had a unique version of the piece, Poy earned Direk Joey’s favor as she owned the song in her performance. Laarni though had yet to control her singing so as not to be predictable.

Meanwhile, Poy’s very concerned with making an impression on her last Gala night. She is determined to be the Star Scholar for the first and last time and she’s rehearsing a lot to perfect her piece. Liezel struggles in internalization

On the last day of rehearsals, most scholars reported to Teacher Kitchy that their practices with their celebrity partners were running smoothly. However, Liezel felt that she was unable to come up to par with her pair. While Side A vocalist, Joey Generoso sang a heartfelt rendition of their piece, Liezel couldn’t internalize and she seemed detached from her song.

The Overall Voice Mentor then pep talked Liezel hoping to trigger an emotional experience. She was asked to think of her special friend leaving the Academy aside from recalling a time of an unreciprocated love. However, Liezel maintained a stoic expression.

But, Teacher Kitchy wasn’t ready to give up on her yet. She advised Liezel to set an emotion and convince herself of the feeling required to give life to her performance. Should she lack personal experience, it would be helpful to create an imaginary situation just so she would have something to internalize with. Scholars go night swimming

Tonight, with nothing much to do, the Scholars decided to take a dip in the pool with their in-house teacher, Sir Monet.

Pool time was indeed a fun time for all of them. Aside from swimming per se, they found more ways than one to enjoy themselves in the water. Teacher Monet, Iñaki, Bugoy and Laarni even had a breath-holding competition, where Poy served as their referee.

In terms of diving in the pool, the Acadremians also tried to enhance their creativity. One by one, they thought of different ways to jump in the pool. The person who makes the biggest splash gets awarded the title of Best Diver.

After their individual contests, they decided to move on to a group competition. The Scholars decided to make their own version of the Filipino kid’s game known as Agawan Base. Since they are in the pool, they modified it to become a ‘submerged’ version.

For the sake of plain fun itself, they also decided to make a three-storey human tower, in contrast to those usual two-storey ones. Their base was Iñaki while the top layer was Laarni. Sandwiched in between them was poor Bugoy.

After their fun-filled swimming break, the Scholars went back to work. Teacher Monet gathered all the Scholars in the living room to make an important announcement. According to the in-house mentor, all the Scholars are required to think of two dream songs—songs that are considered either inspirational or victorious. One song has to be fast paced, while the other has to be slow, and they had to submit it in a few hours. What are these songs for? Happy Birthday Probees

Since it was the two Probees’ most special day, the Academy took the opportunity to give the two young men surprise presents. Both lads were given an opportunity to see their moms. Upon seeing his mother, Iñaki was obviously pleased. The two hugged and spoke how much they missed each other. It was indeed a happy sight. The love was there though no tears were shed.

In Miguel’s case, on the other hand, the scenario was somehow melodramatic. It has been a long time since the two of them saw each other, so when he saw his mom in the counseling room, Miguel immediately dived in his mothers arms. He mumbled words in between his sobs, saying that he was deeply sorry. His mom tried to hold back her tears as she greeted her son a happy birthday.

Aside from his mom, there was another surprise visitor who dropped by the Academy to greet Miguel a happy birthday. Ex-Scholar Bea was given a minute to drop off a plate of California Maki to her Scholar boyfriend. Miguel was pleased, and he admitted that he even got teary-eyed, but unfortunately the sudden partition of his girlfriend’s attention took away his dramatic frame of mind.

Other than receiving, the two probees celebrated their special day with the act of giving. After being told that Honorary Scholar Poy will be saying goodbye this Saturday together with one of them, the two initiated her surprise send off party. The two suggested a pool party. They even conspired with Bravia to discreetly push through with their plans. While Iñaki took care of the cooking, Miguel hid in the music room to create the collage they would give Poy as a remembrance.

In line with her exit, the Scholars bid Poy their testimonials. Everybody thanked her for everything she had done for them. With the Honorary Scholar’s absence, will the remaining Scholars be able to maintain the competing attitude she taught them or will they go back to their laid back performances? Miguel and Iñaki grant a request

On Uberture today, texter Joanna Barrera met best buds Miguel and Iñakitotorequest a song by Sarah Geronimo for her best friend, Isay. Three years of friendship formed an inseparable bond between the two and though Isay migrated to New Zealand, Joanna knows they would remain the best of friends.

Also the Acadreamians’ tribute to Poy was shown this afternoon. The Honorary Scholar would soon be leaving the Academy and the Scholars reminisced the happy times they all had in the Academy with her. Miguel considered Poy as his companion whenever he felt withdrawn from the group. Iñaki on the other hand confessed that the Honorary Scholar was the reason behind the renewed bond among the scholars.

After the party, Poy confided in Laarni that she felt that failing to achieve the Star Scholar title had a purpose. In fact, she observed how the Scholars challenged themselves since her arrival. Laarni admitted that she was actually threatened by Poy and she pushed herself to the limit to succeed. Though Poy was considered as competition, the Scholars have grown to love her and would surely miss her presence.

Poy is grateful for Teacher Kitchy’s mentorship

During rehearsals, Poy enjoyed singing her piece, “Living on a Prayer” and gave it her best shot. Teacher Kitchy acknowledged the Honorary Scholar and praised her for her unbelievable talent. In just a few weeks, Poy was able to come up to par with the resident scholars and even succeeded most of them. She already has the “magic voice” as Teacher Kitchy called it, and the Academy just further enhanced this prized ability.

However, Poy expressed that she owed much to the mentors. She was especially grateful of Teacher Kitchy and the techniques she imparted with them. The Overall Voice Mentor reminded her to keep learning and feeding her musical intelligence. Poy had the edge when it came to her talent but, she still needed to work out and tone her muscles to be more visually appealing. Teacher Kitchy then shared a few dieting tips and inspired Poy to follow her advice.

Before they parted, Poy embraced the the Overall Voice Mentor and expressed how honored she was to be mentored by her. Teacher Kitchy felt equally privileged to be working with someone possessing such talent.

Prayers for Bunny

Happy yet sad, that's how Bunny Malunda felt upon her expulsion from the Academy last Saturday. She's very glad that she can finally be with husband Chivas and son Jether but she will also miss the lessons, the mentors and of course her fellow Scholars.

Speaking of her co-Acadremians, Bunny had a rift with Laarni before she left the school. However, Bunny clarified that they have already made up. She stated that she and Laarni are quite good friends. In fact she often defended Laarni when the other Scholars criticized the lass from Sultan Kudarat.

When asked about her and Chivas plans for the future, Bunny said she will finally be undergoing a throat operation this Friday (August 22) to have her cyst removed. The couple said they will ge gauging their plans according to the result of Bunny's operation and asked the PDA viewers to pray for its success.

Chivas and Bunny then closed the show with Billy by singing "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling.

Poy and Laarni talk about Bugoy

While in the garden, Poy and Laarni had a little chat regarding their stay inside the Academy. They talked about certain issues inside the school and how the outside world probably perceives all of it. Considering that the Scholars have been halfway through the season when Poy entered the Academy, she’s already aware of how people view the Acadreamians. Laarni tried to fish out some information from Poy, but the Honorary Scholar chose to keep her mouth shut.

Aside from that, the two were also able to share their thoughts regarding some of their co-Scholars, specially Bugoy. Poy admitted to Laarni that she finds Bugoy a little insensitive. One example she cited happened during their class with Mr. C yesterday. While watching the reruns, she said that she clearly heard how Bugoy commented on her body size. She admitted that she somehow felt humiliated considering the lad said it in front of everyone, including Mr. C.

Laarni too had sentiments towards the Farmer’s Son. She admitted that she was quite uncomfortable with Bugoy when they teamed up for the counterpoint challenge. She said that Bugoy once told her that she intentionally makes her voice louder so that she could outshine him.

The two assumed that Bugoy’s personality could be credited to his youth. They said that he is too young and too disturbed with a lot of thoughts that he dare not share it with anybody else. He tries to act jolly and all but deep inside he really has insecurities about himself. Could the two possibly be right? Poy is down to her last week

After the Gala Night last Saturday, Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab had a word with the Honorary Scholar Poy. Sadly, the said meeting was set to inform the said Scholar of her upcoming exit. She has been in the Academy for three weeks, and she was indeed remarkable for consistently being in top three. Mr. C couldn’t even find enough words to thank her for everything she had done for them. He told her that improvements in the Scholars’ grades have been very evident ever since she entered the Academy. Unfortunately, this week will be her last week. She will be say goodbye to her friends inside the Academy on Saturday. The Scholars have no idea of Poy’s upcoming departure, since she was also instructed to keep it a secret.

Yesterday, the Scholars had their Singing with Personality class with Direk Joey. He emphasized to the Scholars, again, how important it is to sing with personality. As his first example, Direk Joey picked out Liezel. According to him, despite the lass’ great musicality, her lack of personality pulls her performance down. Considering that they will be singing with real music personalities, he was afraid that the power of the said personalities’ voices would eat up the Scholars’ performances.

Speaking of celebs, Iñaki, Sen and Poy finally met their celebrity partners. First to go in the music room to meet his duet partner, Bituin Escalante, was Iñaki. The two were pretty well acquainted because it so happened that the Stage Performer already worked together in a play way back in the lad’s younger days. Sen, on the other hand, was introduced to Rachel Alejandro, and they will be singing Stop and Talk a While. And to Poy’s surprise, she wasn’t only introduced to one personality because she was paired up with a group of commendable singers—the Ryan Cayabyab Singers.

The pressure is indeed on the Scholars. Being paired up with the Stars is indeed a great challenge they are expected to succeed. Mr. C calls Cris and Iñaki’s counterpoint the worst

In the Scholars’ class with the Headmaster tonight, they had another series of sermons regarding their performances last Gala Night. While watching the reruns, Mr. C kept on pointing out problematic parts in their acts that might have caught the attention of the jurors last Saturday. He was growing quite frustrated that after all 8 Gala Nights they had within the past 2 months, they still keep on repeating their mistakes as if they were not taking their lessons seriously.

Out of all the counterpoint pairs, the team that bothered him the most was Cris and Iñaki’s duo. According to him, theirs was the worst performance that night, both on the individual and counterpoint categories. As a pair, the Headmaster claimed that they lacked the “gel factor.” Their individual performances were terrible as well.

Aside from criticizing their presentations last Saturday, Mr. C also left bits of advice for their upcoming Gala Night. Since they will be singing a duet with celebs on their 10^th Gala Performance Night, they were all encouraged to deliver the best. He added that the singers the Scholars will be singing with are some of the biggest names in the industry, and if they will be able to pull this one off, they will surely earn their respect. Iñaki and Miguel are probee birthday boys

The Scholars saved the Singing Interior Designer from probation last Saturday. Cris was able to gather all her co-Scholars’ votes, five out of five, including Sen’s. The lass was indeed surprised that after her somewhat betrayal to Sen during last week’s Probation Night, the lad’s ballot still had her name on it.

Unfortunately for the Academy best buds who are also just days away from celebrating their birthdays, Miguel and Iñaki are this week’s Probationary Scholars. Miguel calmly accepted the defeat, while Iñaki wasn’t able to hold himself from being a little emotional. He admitted that he badly wants to celebrate his birthday inside the Academy, so he is definitely not ready to leave anytime soon. After having a small chat with Teacher Kitchy, the Stage Performer finally swallowed the bitter pill, but still kept his high hopes that he will not be the one going home on Saturday.

For their 10^th Gala Night, the Scholars are up for another great challenge. Again, the Scholars will be singing duets. But instead of being teamed up with a co-Scholar, they will be paired this time with a famous singer. Fortunately for some Scholars, they already had the chance to meet their star performer partners yesterday. Sheryn Regis dropped by the Academy yesterday to meet her Scholar partner, Miguel. She also brought with her a copy of their song entitled Never Say Goodbye. On the other hand, Cris was paired with Richard Poon for the song Kissing a Fool, while Laarni will be singing The Prayer with her idol Jed Madela.

Aside from the three music icons stated above, other famous singers will join the Scholars for a star studded Saturday duet night. Who could these stars possibly be? Ex-Little Dreamer Dean receives a present from Billy

4^th expelled Little Dreamer Dean made a live appearance on Uberture today. He received toy cars from Billy as a treat for being a diligent student in the Academy. Upon learning that he was up for expulsion, Dean continued to make the most out of his scholarship.

The Little Dreamer from Laguna admitted that this was the first time he joined a reality show. He had been singing for quite some time and won a videoke competition back in his hometown. However, he has big dreams as he aspires to buy a house for his family. He felt that he could help his family this by auditioning for the Little Dreamers and giving every performance his best. Though unable to achieve the Grand Little Dreamer title, he continues to dream for himself and the well-being of his family.

One by one, the scholars ran through their pieces but not before Teacher Kitchy’s reminders and notes on the 9^th Gala night.

Though the Overall Voice Mentor was awed by Poy’s number, there were slips here and there that needed polishing. Poy had yet to loosen up whenever she encounters high notes in order to maximize power supply. Her partner Van on the other had jutted out his chin which tightened his neck muscles.

Laarni and Bugoy also received recognition from the mentor. Laarni though had much to learn from Bugoy since she was apprehensive with her first note and was quite off-key. Conversely, the Farmer’s Son was slowly gaining confidence and was relaxed 85% of the time.

After which, the scholars attacked their new pieces with much fervor. Iñaki was excited with his new song and sang it with ease. Meanwhile, Van was still caught up with his problem on relaxing and sustaining notes.

Laarni sang a heartfelt rehearsal of the piece, “The Prayer” while Cris was worried with the unfamiliarity of her song. As soon as the class ended, she went to work in the garden and listened to her song numerous times.

If the scholars were anticipating the next Gala, Sen kept quiet most of the morning and seemed bothered. He revealed to Cris that he was scared about getting apprehended when he unknowingly committed a mistake. What could have gotten Sen into deep trouble? Aubrey takes hold of the Most Outstanding Little Dreamer title

Ten-year old Little Dreamer from Batangas, Aubrey, had her first taste of being an Outstanding Little Dreamer after she impressed the judges with her rendition of Fergie’s Big Girls don’t Cry on their 6^th Gala Night. Being the last performer of the night, Aubrey proved that the last was indeed not the least. The panel of jurors, composed of Jimmy Antiporda, Aiza Seguerra and Jessa Zaragosa, were left speechless after her performance. Jimmy Antiporda himself couldn’t help but utter that hers was the best performance he had seen all night.

The Little Dreamer’s 6^th Gala Night’s theme was all about growing up. In line with the said theme, they were also asked to share what they want to be when they grow up. Philip, one of last week’s Outstanding Little Dreamers, claimed that he wanted to be like his dad who happens to be a policeman. The other Outstanding Scholar, Amy, on the other hand, wanted to be a teacher, so that she could teach children, most especially the out of school ones.

Unfortunately, the said Gala Night was also a venue to announce another expulsion from the Academy. Based on their performances last Gala Night, Kelly and Dean were given a mark of needs improvement. Kelly has been under probation for four straight weeks now, and luckily, she was also saved four times. The public spoke once again to show their admiration for the lass from Valenzuela. She was able to garner 57.66 percent of the total text votes, leaving only 42.34 percent to Dean.

Kelly is indeed a lucky kid. Given four chances straight could really mean that the viewing public sees great potential in her. Being part of the Bottom Four upsets Iñaki

Miguel is now on his fifth straight week in the Bottom Four position. But unlike his quite dramatic acceptance last week, Miguel was cool with this week’s setup. After the Gala Night, he was congratulated by the Mentors for putting on a good show. Based on their opinion, the Romantic Crooner’s show tonight is definitely the best show he had given so far. Direk Joey was very proud of the lad because he started to sing his age, at last.

Miguel’s Academy best buddy, Iñaki, on the other hand wasn’t able to keep his cool upon knowing that he, too, is part of the Bottom Four. He wasn’t able to hold back his tears. Luckily, his co-Scholars were there to comfort him. Miguel took part in the said comfort session, too saying that he shouldn’t worry much and that he should just enjoy by going with the flow.

On the other side of the room, consistent Top Three Scholar, Bugoy found comfort by himself. While his co-Scholars were gathered in the dining area to share food and stories, he stayed alone inside the boys’ room. He looked somehow distressed about something. The Acadreamians were anxious all morning as they awaited Bugoy’s ASAP ’08 stint. Early this afternoon, they were again called to gather in the living room to view their co-scholar’s impressive performance with PDA Season 1 Grand Star Winner Yeng Constantino.

As Bugoy went on stage, the scholars observed the reverberating cheer of the audience. They gushed on about his sheer voice quality and how he bagged his performance.

The Farmer’s Son on the other hand couldn’t explain the thrill and happiness with his debut and was brought to tears. Though he was quite nervous and wasn’t feeling well recently, he still delivered a remarkable number which everyone definitely appreciated.

Meanwhile, Teacher Monet delivered the scholars’ theme for the next Gala night via plasma television. Celebrities appeared on screen and announced their favorite Acadreamian. Some of which were Zanjoe Marudo, Pops Fernandez and Gary Valenciano. Soon enough, the Voice Mentor revealed that the scholars would be performing with celebrities. Miguel told the scholars that he would be singing with Sheryn Regis and he was already given his piece earlier. Who among the celebrities would the scholars be paired with? Outside world welcomes expelled Scholar Bunny

For the past few weeks, Bunny was pretty much preoccupied with thoughts about her throat problem and her extreme homesickness.For the longest time, she had been looking forward for her expulsion so that she could see her family once again. Tonight, her wish came true after the public laid down their verdict after the Scholars presented their fantastic counterpoint performances.

The Teacher Wife couldn’t help but burst into tears upon hearing the results. According to her, the said tears were tears of joy, because finally she will be with her family outside the Academy. She was able to garner 39.65 percent of the total text votes, while Sen took with him a total of 60.35 percent.

After being given another chance inside the Academy, Sen faced the odds again as he stood in front of his co-Scholars as part of this week’s Bottom Four. Joining him in the pit of frustration were Iñaki, Cris, and Miguel. Fortunately for the Cancer Survivor, luck was on his side two times tonight because the Dream Mentors decided to hand him another shot inside the Academy as they saved him from this week’s probation night.

On the other hand, Laarni still couldn’t believe that she was declared this week’s Star Scholar. Her counterpoint performance with Bugoy, the Farmer’s Son who also made a spot on the Top Three, earned her a grade of 8.97. The jurors, composed of Louie Ocampo, Lani Misalucha, and Gerard Ocampo, were indeed impressed with her performance tonight. They just couldn’t deny the fact that she is indeed gifted with a wonderful voice.

Honorary Scholar Poy made it to the Top Three again. Her counterpoint with Van may not be as good as the jurors may have expected, but it didn’t fail to highlight her great voice quality, which also gained acknowledgements from the panel of judges. Aside from their counterpoint, her duet with Liezel too received a lot of commendations. The crowd loved their rendition of Got to be Real.

Sen and Bunny tandem experience difficulties

Unfortunately for the probationary pair, Sen and Bunny, the latter’s throat seems to lack cooperation. Yesterday, during their supposed practice with Teacher Monet, Bunny’s throat problem took its toll. No matter how hard she tried to push through with the practice, she just couldn’t since she had no voice to start with. Feeling frustrated, the Teacher Wife broke down in tears. She was feeling sorry for herself, and her partner who has to suffer with her as well. Teacher Monet tried to calm her down by saying that all she needed was enough rest to regain her voice. He insisted that they skip on the rehearsal that day in order to avoid pushing her throat to its limit. This made her feel more miserable, since she claimed that they do need that day’s practice.

Upon their return inside the Academy, Bunny’s burst of emotions continued. She assumed a position near the bathroom to hide her sobbing from her co-Scholars. Cris noticed Bunny so she immediately approached her with consolation. Just like what Teacher Monet did, she also tried to calm her down.

Sen, on the other hand, was growing really concerned with Bunny’s worsening voice. He said that he fully understands what his partner was going through, but it couldn’t help but worry him of their counterpoint duo. He claimed that her failure could also result to his failure, and he doesn’t want that. Considering that they are probationary Scholars this week, he said that it is their duty to prove themselves unworthy of being expelled from the Academy.

Cris and Liezel shared their own opinions regarding Bunny’s setback. They said that they have seen how hard the Teacher Wife pushed herself to do her best, and it is already time for her to give it a rest. According to them, Bunny’s struggles, both with her voice and with her extreme homesickness, are growing worse as days pass by, so they might as well see her outside the Academy, together with her family. Miguel and Laarni engage in a confrontation

The pressure seems to build up in the Academy and the slightest annoyance among the scholars could blow out of proportion. Early this morning, Laarni sang at the top of her lungs oblivious to her co-scholars’ displeasure.

Miguel finally approached her and advised her to vocalize in the garden so as not to disturb the others. The Independent Woman seemed to misunderstand this though. She pointed out that she doesn’t tell anyone to occupy the garden whenever they rehearse. Apart from this, she felt that Miguel had an equally loud voice but she overlooks it.

The Romantic Crooner admitted to Sen, Bugoy and Cris that he was hurt with Laarni’s insults. He tried hard to contain himself to avoid a heated argument and an irreparable damage between the two of them. Teacher Monet trains the Scholars to sing from the heart

Last night, Teacher Monet asked the Scholars to do free-written poems that will speak out their thoughts. He wanted all the Scholars to open up in a form of a song, so he required each of them to compose one, and present it tonight.

The main goal of this activity is to enhance the Scholars sincerity in terms of attacking their songs.

Considering that the lyrics of the song came straight from their hearts, he was expecting that the Scholars would be able to execute it with full blown emotions. He even asked all of them to put aside all other elements of singing for once, including melody, so they could concentrate on sincerely singing their songs.

Aside from that, he also wanted this activity to serve as a venue for the Scholars to freely express their emotions toward certain matters that concern them.

Iñaki started the presentation with his guitar-accompanied song. The thought of his song dealt mostly with other people’s misconception of him. He was able to highlight on all the issues that was thrown back at him. His song was somehow his form of defense against all his perpetrators.

Just like Iñaki’s piece, Cris’ song was also related to the intrigues raised about her. According to her, she isn’t as “impure” as others may perceive her; it just so happened that she’s pretty much true to herself compared to other women.

Miguel’s song also leaned towards his defensive side. Since he was always viewed as “non-existent” inside the Academy due to his lack of presence, he decided to write something that will clearly explain why he prefers to be alone most of the time.

All had the chance to share their originals. After that, Teacher Monet too shared a little piece of him with the Scholars. What could be the song that Teacher Monet shared and what does it represent? Mini-concert fiasco

Earlier this week, the Scholars were given the task to prepare a mini-concert for a cause. Iñaki was assigned to direct the said production, with Poy as his assistant. And since Cris was very much inclined in the artistic side, the Singing Interior Designer was designated to be the mini-concert’s production designer. Van, Sen and Liezel were in-charge of the scripts, while the remaining Scholars stood by to assist. All of them ensured that everything was prepared for their big day yesterday; but little did they know that their big day was intended to fall right on them.

The weather itself seemed to be working against the Scholars. With nonstop rain showers, the Acadremians had a hard time preparing for their “major production.” It was still drizzling when Teacher Monet relayed to the Scholars that their surprise guests, who were just pretending to be big names in the recording industry, will be coming in late, so they had to cut their show short unexpectedly.

Aside from the aforementioned hassles, their production itself too had unforeseen flaws. They were indeed bombarded with a lot of technical problems. To start with, their opening music was played in late, and other technical difficulties continued up until the end of their show. Luckily, the Scholars noticed that the series of events were somehow done intentionally to test their ability to hold their projection on stage despite the situation, so they were able to instantly adjust themselves to the pressure.

According to them, it was indeed a fun learning experience. They weren’t able to anticipate the series of unfortunate events that struck their production, but they were actually thankful that they were able to surmount it. Van inspires his fan Paul Arguelles

On Uberture today, Van met his avid fan, Paul Arguelles and dedicated the song, “High” by The Speaks to him. Paul had been handicapped for seven years due to a holdup incident where he was accidentally shot. Though years have passed since the tragic event, he still has a hard time adjusting to being on a wheelchair. Despite this, there is a glimmer of hope for Paul and he requested his favorite scholar to inspire him further. Paul was invited into the Academy and there he came face-to-face with his idol. The Acadreamian reminded him to stay strong and maintain a positive outlook in life in spite of his disability.

Also on Uberture this afternoon was Teacher Monet’s counterpoint exercise for the scholars. Each pair had to sing a note and as the mentor clapped, the two would have to exchange their pitches. Cris and Iñaki easily learned the technique while Miguel and Zhel sought assistance from the mentor a couple of times. Bugoy and Laarni were a bit confused with the lesson but Van and Poy were able to receive a nod of approval from the Voice Coach. Would learning fast mean a higher probability of being the Star Scholar? Sen and Bunny release their frustrations with their counterpointing duet

Only a day away from the Gala night and yet Sen and Bunny still had synchronization problems. Sen couldn’t help but express his worries to his bud Bugoy. He admitted that he was confident with his parts however; he wasn’t too sure about Bunny since they didn’t "gel". Though he wanted to practice and polish their duet, Bunny couldn’t do so since she had to rest her vocals.

The Teacher Wife was equally disappointed and she broke down in tears. She left the piano room and hid in a corner to release her pent up frustrations. Cris and Van tried to cheer her up but she was inconsolable. Later, Teacher Monet advised her to learn the melody even if she can’t sing out loud.

Meanwhile, the scholars made adjustments to their pieces to conform to their pair. Laarni slowed her pace to allow Bugoy to catch up. Cris softened the pronunciation of the lyrics to fit the emotion of the song. Poy and Liezel’s showdown was also practiced earlier, and the two had yet to adjust to the other’s choreography. Outstanding Little Dreamer Amy belts out Whitney Houston’s “One Moment In Time” on Uberture today. The young scholar was a first timer in the top spot and she was thrilled to receive a bike as a present.

Living in the suburbs of Las Piñas, Amy dreams not only for herself but also for the financial security of her family. In pursuing her goal as a singer, she hopes to have properties for her kin. Slowly, this dream is getting realized as she continues with her journey.

Also this afternoon was the Headmaster’s feedbacks on the scholars. Maestro Ryan believed that the scholars were gradually improving however, they could still use some advice from the mentors.

Mr. C was particularly impressed with Cris’ number and applauded the Interior Designer. He also took notice of Bugoy’s outstretched arms which signified openness to the audience. While Laarni had yet to perfect her pitch, Miguel had to maintain his suave element and charm the female crowd.

The scholars themselves were quite surprised as Mr. C grooved to Iñaki and Bunny’s performance. The Teacher Wife though wasn’t satisfied with her presentation. Sen and Bunny polish their final duet

Probees Bunny and Sen are anxious with the upcoming Gala night. The two practiced nonstop to perfect their pieces. Though the two have gone a long way from their initial auditions, the mentors still noticed glitches in their rehearsals.

Both had yet to execute proper breathing and also relaxing as they present their number. Another problem for the duo was the difference in their voice qualities. While Sen had a clear and fine texture to his voice, Bunny had a husky feature to hers. Several times did the two miss their cue and also hitting the right notes. However, the two were still headstrong in owning their performance this Saturday and constantly asked the mentors for advice.

Meanwhile, the others refined their pieces this morning. Cris and Iñaki ran through their duets and the two were almost perfect with their performance. This case was similar with Miguel and Liezel who had already mastered their pieces and were already at the level of experimenting. The Scholars talk about ghosts

Over dinner tonight, the Scholars had a small discussion regarding the “unusual events” occurring inside the Academy. It all started when Van shared to Bugoy that he had seen an apparition standing beside him while they were hanging out inside the boys’ room. Bugoy grew a little concerned with the idea, so he insisted Van to blurt out the full details regarding what he saw.

When the other Scholars heard of the two’s conversation, they too started to share their own ghost stories inside the Academy. Laarni said that she saw a white figure standing by the altar one night. At first, she thought that it could have been a ray of light, but when she tried to stare at the said form, she couldn’t help but picture a translucent human body. And upon realizing it, she immediately ran to their room.

Cris too had an experience during their first week inside the Academy. She said that she and Miguel were running around the area then when suddenly a white apparition in a shape of a child walked in front of her. She was quite hesitant at first, but when it all came to her senses, she just froze with astonishment and stayed silent.

According to them, the said extraordinary events inside could be traced back to the history of the Academy’s location itself. They assumed that the exact site they are in is a former Japanese base where a lot of devastating killings occurred. Could their assumption be right? Direk Joey discusses the vitality of packaging

As future singers of the music industry, Direk Joey explained to the Scholars the importance of coming up with their own packages. According to him, being a showbiz commodity that they will soon become, the way they sell themselves to the public will be as vital as their raw talent in singing.

With Sen and Van, Direk Joey cared less because as he said even before the start of the contest, the two lads’ selling point will primarily be their faces. He was certain that their extreme charms could bring them to a lot of places, unlike the others who still haven’t discovered the permanent mark that could bring impact and recall to their audience.

Bugoy has the voice, and Direk Joey had no doubt about that. What he was really concerned about is the Farmer’s Son’s unmannered movements every time he performs. According to the media performance instructor, his moves could further be improved if he tries to learn a little from Miguel’s decent gestures. The same went for Miguel. He was advised to learn how to become an energetic performer from Bugoy. He said that Miguel sings too old for his age, making him quite boring to watch.

Bunny, on the other hand, may not have the best vocals inside the Academy, but Direk Joey finds potential on her sexy packaging. Given the right song, Direk Joey was confident that the Scholar mom could outdo Poy, Laarni and Liezel with her over-all performance. As for Cris, if she could further explore on her womanhood, then she could probably find that unique quality in her that she could use as her edge over the others.

Between Laarni and Liezel, it seemed that the latter has better recall. Direk Joey pointed out that aside from Liezel’s unique voice her color also served its purpose to make her outstanding. With this observation, he encouraged the Independent Woman to create an image of her own that would carry her voice, because without it her voice will simply fade away from the limelight.

Being a plus size performer may be a liability for Poy, considering the public’s judgmental eyes. But despite the worst scenario, Direk Joey challenged the Honorary Scholar to defy that notion. Little Dreamers Nikki and Kelly sing a duet

Kelly and Nikki cemented their friendship on Uberture today by singing “Hero” by Mariah Carey together. Though last week their friendship was put to a test as they vied for a spot in the Academy, they remained best friends even after Nikki’s expulsion. The expelled Little Dreamer found Kelly nice and caring especially during tough times.

Kelly on the other hand is still on her way to pursuing her goal – to be the Little Grand Star Dreamer and to unite her family. At a tender age of four, she was left under her auntie’s supervision since her parents had to work abroad. Aside from seeing her parents again, she aspires to be a nurse to cure her sick father.

Also on this afternoon’s show was the scholars’ turn to be coaches to one another. Laarni and Bugoy helped each other to determine their partner’s mistakes during practice. Sen, on the other hand, exchanged English and Bisaya lessons with Van while Miguel gave piano tutorials for his bud Iñaki.

The Acadreamians organize a mini-concert

After rehearsing the Maestro’s compositions plus their Gala songs, the scholars have finally mastered their pieces and are more than ready to perform these on stage. The Acadreamians would be holding a mini-concert in the Academy and everyone is psyched with the upcoming event.

Iñaki seemed to take responsibility over the preparation and encouraged everyone to pitch in their ideas. He planned the set and Cris assisted him in visualizing where to position their props.

Meanwhile, the others were busy with their rehearsals with Teacher Kitchy. The Voice Mentor noticed that Bunny was more relaxed in her Gala performances due to dancing. Also as a half-meant joke, she was suggested to dance even during vocalization.

Poy and Van practiced their counterpoint pieces for the first time with the mentors. The former would be interpreting “Forever’s Not Enough” while the latter would sing “Maybe”. Cris and Iñaki had their turn and the mentors decided to make arrangements with their number in order to synch their pitch better. Who among the pairs would produce a show-stopping performance? Scholars hear the Headmaster’s opinions

Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab backtracked on the Scholars performances last Saturday, so that he could relay to the Scholars his personal observations. In order to refresh the Scholars’ memory of the said performance night, he played the event’s reruns. And to further enhance the learning experience, he also encouraged the Scholars to voice out their own opinions. The main goal of this activity is to encourage improvements from the Scholars, not necessarily to make them feel down.

Laarni was the first Scholar on the hot seat. With her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, the Headmaster was indeed impressed. He admitted that the song isn’t actually intended for a solo act, and yet she was able to successfully pin it. He also added that her shifting was indeed impressive, though she had minor problems with her notes. Poy agreed with the Headmaster, and as an additional opinion, she also pointed out her lyrics inconsistency.

Though Miguel has a remarkable musicality, the Headmaster was somehow intimidated with his stage presence. He said that Miguel has too many unnecessary facial contortions. Aside from that, he also failed to maximize the use of his body, performance wise.

The Dream Mentors made a unanimous decision to save Laarni from this week’s probation. According to them, Laarni deserves this chance. They admit that Laarni was able to give out her fair share during the Gala Night, considering the challenge that her gala song offers.

And since Bunny, being the lowest in the midterm ranking, was denied of the privilege to be saved by her co-Scholars, the votes were divided between Sen and Miguel. Surprisingly, the votes were equally divided, with both lads having 3 votes each. Unfortunately, the existence an unusual event such as this one led to a very crucial procedure involving Laarni.

As stated on the Academy rule book, in case of a tie during the voting, the final decision will solely depend on the Scholar saved by the Dream Mentors. Laarni was in shock upon hearing of the instant responsibility. It was indeed a hard task for her, since the situation somehow torn her between two friends. But despite all the pressures, she decided to stick with her decision of saving Miguel. According to her, the Romantic Crooner had enough of the probationary pressure last week, and he really deserves this break.

Sen respectfully accepted Laarni’s decision to pick Miguel over him. But unlike his full understanding towards the Independent Woman, Sen felt really bad that he didn’t get the vote of one of his closest Academy friends, Cris. He admitted that he was somehow confident that he has the support of the Singing Interior Designer, considering that she promised him that she’s got his back.

It was somehow a start an unspoken war between the two best buds inside the Academy. The tight friendship they used to have was replaced by an eerie silence caused by cold shoulders. Cris couldn’t stand the distance so she decided to confront Sen, which led to a rather emotional discussion.

Ex-PDA Scholar Apple faces the intrigues

This afternoon, Uberture host Billy Crawford questioned Apple regarding the public’s perception of her. The recently expelled scholar denied any feelings for Miguel since he was just one of her closest friends in the Academy. Apart from this, she reasoned that her baby talk was so to amuse and comfort Mommy Bunny since she terribly misses her son, Jether.

Also on the show was the growing “popularity” of Bugoy among the scholars. Apple was bothered with Bugoy’s observation on the change in her personality. According to him, she wasn’t the same Apple who was positive and enthusiastic.

On the other side of the Academy, Cris and Zhel were also intent on their discussion about him. The Farmer’s Son hinted at Cris that she shouldn’t be making the first moves on guys. The Interior Designer expressed her annoyance with this since he told her this in front of Sen.

And what made things worse for Cris and Sen was the probation process. The former chose to save Miguel instead of Sen, whom everyone knows she has feelings for. Teacher Monet introduces the counterpoint challenge

Early this morning, the scholars welcomed their Voice Coach who was absent for a week. To make up for lost time, Teacher Monet bonded with the Acadreamians and shortly after briefed them on their counterpoint challenge.

For the upcoming Gala night, the scholars would sing in duets. The Voice Mentor explained that the counterpoint theme could be likened to the medley of the Headmaster. The difference however is that the pair would have to sing different pieces simultaneously. The biggest challenge then is their ability to focus on their respective songs despite the different lyrics and tune of their partner. Though working as a pair, they would be graded separately.

Teacher Kitchy reminded them of the importance of tone memory and musical intelligence. Should they get a hang of these, the challenge would be a clinch.

Liezel and Miguel were assigned to work together. The former would be singing “Sometimes Love Goes Wrong” and the latter, “Stay Awake”. As the two rehearsed their piece, glitches were already evident and the song had to be arranged further.

Bugoy and Laarni seemed to outdo the other and were continuously belting the lyrics. The mentors advised them to work as a team and connect with the other. Also, they had to listen closely to their partner to know the appropriate adlibs.

Sen and Bunny would be a tandem, while Iñaki and Cris are one team. Honorary Scholar Poy on the other hand would be singing a duet with Cebuano Heartthrob Van. How else would the scholars prepare for their challenging theme? And who among the dreamers would prove to have the utmost focus and sheer musicality? Scholars prepare for Teacher Monet’s arrival

Iñaki was asked to go to the counseling room earlier tonight. When he got back inside the Academy, he was holding poster papers and some coloring materials. He gathered his co-Scholars in the living area to share with them their task before they all go to sleep tonight.

In the counseling room, he was informed that their in-house teacher, Teacher Monet, will be returning in the Academy tomorrow. It has been known to all that Teacher Monet has been gone for quite some time due to health reasons. And with the said long absence, the Scholars admit that they indeed missed him. In line with the said teacher’s arrival, they were tasked to make a welcome banner.

All of them participated in the said activity, but since Poy and Cris were artistically inclined by nature, they were the ones who initiated the project. They were in-charge of the drafting, while the other Scholars helped out by filling in the colors. For their banner concept, they also decided to add caricatures of themselves to make it more inviting.

After making the banner, they were also requested to clean up and prepare his room that has long been vacated. Iñaki also added that they should cook a very special meal tomorrow that all of them could feast on. How could Teacher Monet possibly react upon seeing the Scholars’ surprises for him tomorrow?

Philip and Amy share the Most Outstanding Little Dreamer title

In line with the ongoing Olympics, the Little Dreamers’ 5^th Gala Night they were asked to prepare songs that could refer to sports and victory. Inspired by their most priced possession, all of them took the stage with pride and entertained the whole world.

Philip was able to retain his Most Outstanding Little Dreamer title after he awed the board of jurors composed of Jimmy Antiporda, Aiza Seguerra, and Dingdong Avanzado with his show stopping rendition of We are the Champions. Though there were minor errors on his notes, he indeed showed the whole world that he is indeed a champion in the making. But though Philip was able to retain the title, he has to share it to a co-Little Dreamer this week.

Surprisingly, the 6-year old lass from ValenzuelaCity, Amy was able to grab the attention of the panel of jurors after being hailed as one of the Most Outstanding Little Dreamer this week. Aiza was indeed surprised how far Amy’s vocals could go at such an early age. Aside from that, she also commended on the child’s stage presence as she sang her piece entitled One Moment in Time. She had little problems with diction and eye contact, but Aiza claimed that it could be considered negligible.

While Philip and Amy were at the verge of happiness, Kelly and Nikki were at the edge of desperation as they patiently wait who between them will have a second chance to stay inside the Academy. Luckily, Kelly was the one who had the privilege of staying after garnering 51.79 percent of the total votes. Nikki tried her best to hold back her tears, but she wasn’t successful, so Kelly hugged and comforted her Academy best friend.

There are only eight Little Dreamers left, and by next week’s Gala Night, another aspirant has to leave. Who among the remaining eight will that be? The Academy announces a miscalculation from yesterday’s grade computation

An official statement was released by the Academy, signed by Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab himself, together with their sincerest apology. A miscalculation and a computer error occurred during the computation of the final grade yesterday. After the 8^th Gala Night, it was announced that the Top Three Scholars were Bugoy, Liezel and Poy.

After the recalculation, it was revealed that the official Top Three Scholars are as follows: Bugoy with a final grade of 9.6; Poy with the final score of 9.13;andCris with a score of 9.10. The official rank of Liezel is 5^th with a final grade of 9.0.
