Scholars’ First Task on Their First Day

June 15, 2008 2:20 AM

The Fifteen Scholars just entered the Academy, right after the Grand Opening Night that probably brought them enough pressure to cause extreme exhaustion, but that is no excuse for them not to perform their first task Teacher Monet Silvestre prepared for them for their first day.

To start with the task, Teacher Monet divided the Scholars into two groups: the Pupilars and the One Voice. The Pupilars team is composed of Bugoy, Chivas , Cris, Hansen, Liezel, Sheng, and Van, while One Voice consists of Apple , Bea, Bunny, Christian, Iñaki, Laarni, Miguel, and Ross.

The results of the task will decide who will be the “working class” and the “non-working class” in the Academy for the first week of classes. The “working class,” or the winners, pertains to the group who will be assigned as the teachers’ student assistants. The losing team, which will be referred to as the “non-working class,” on the other hand, will be tasked to clean the Academy for the said week. Aside from cleaning, they will also be responsible for other household chores.

As for the task itself, the task looked simple at first glance, yet the Scholars seemed to have a hard time performing it. The task has something to do with tuning glasses with water to produce a perfect Do-Re-Mi. It was as if they were making an alternative xylophone, wherein a sharp sense of hearing in terms of listening to a tune will be the main key to complete their task and bring life to the instrument.

Of course, neither of the two teams finished with a perfect tune, and Teacher Monet already anticipated that. But since the said task needed a winner, Teacher Monet had to observe which of the two teams ended up with tunes closer to the right ones.

The winning team was Pupilars, leaving the team One Voice busy washing the dishes while the student assistants are indulging themselves in comfort and plenty of rest.
