Teacher Monet peps up the Acadreamians

July 22, 2008 4:02 PM

The Acadreamians spent the whole morning practicing their trio performances with Teacher Monet. Each took their time with the mentor who assisted them in hitting the right notes.

During break time however, some chose to fool around with their fellow scholars and wasted their voices ceaselessly. For the others who decided to practice, they couldn’t stand on their own and were consistently off-key without the aid of the musical instrument.

When it was time to present their rehearsed performances to their mentor, the scholars failed to deliver. Not long before they opened their mouths to sing, were they asked to take their seats after losing their first note.

Teacher Monet was utterly frustrated with the scholars since they seemed to take his efforts in pushing them, for granted. Some were aware that they needed to form the discipline after producing inconsistent performances, but still they were doing otherwise.

Though he was disappointed with them, he still stood as their coach and he wanted to guide them constantly. He urged them to cut down on mindless games and focus on rehearsing their pieces. Also, he reminded them to cancel out negative thoughts and be strong in taking criticisms. These feedbacks in fact should serve as fuel for them to improve on their next performances. Will the scholars take their presentations to the next level after this pep talk? Catch the updates on the scholars later on Uberture!

Laarni comforts Christian

July 22, 2008 12:39 AM

Laarni and Christian’s dispute was somehow put on hold as Laarni did her best to comfort the tearful Small Boy Wonder. The two were just quietly enjoying Mr. Pure Energy’s album at the garden, when Christian suddenly got teary-eyed over the song Natutulog ba ang Diyos? Laarni immediately noticed her companion’s sudden change of mood, so she immediately asked him what was wrong. Without any hesitation, Christian opened up to the Independent Woman and told her that he was simply feeling lonely. He also added that he wanted to cry to release the burden inside his chest. Being an emotional person herself, Laarni immediately understood what Christian was going through, so without any judgment she told him to do as he pleases.

In between his sobs, Christian blurted out to Laarni what was truly bothering him. Unfortunately, it seemed as if Christian’s probationary status shook out some of his emotions, including those that he thought he had long forgotten.

As he wiped his cheeks dry, Christian admitted to Laarni that he has a lot of insecurities regarding his condition. He said that he is very much aware of his appearance and how people react to it. And with this thought in mind, he wanted to do something that would prove the worth of his existence—something that would label him “normal.” According to him, this is all he ever wanted—to be socially accepted regardless of his physical attributes.

Laarni immediately dismissed this rather terrible thought from Christian. According to her, there is nothing more to prove because he already done what he wanted to accomplish—that he is indeed talented and worth the slot inside the Academy. Miguel joined the two Scholars who were having a heart to heart talk. Upon hearing of the two’s topic, he too couldn’t help but agree with Laarni’s point.

Now that Christian is assured that his friends inside the Academy are very much supportive of him, will this give him enough courage to continue his fight inside the Academy? Find out and catch the full story on Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2, and see for yourself whether or not he really deserves to stay inside the Academy.

Christian and Iñaki are on probation

July 22, 2008 12:35 AM

The Scholars received their class cards right after the Gala Night last Saturday. Aside from their grades, it was also revealed there who among them made it to the Bottom Four. Included in the Bottom Four were Bunny, Miguel, Christian, and Iñaki with their grades 6.03, 6.27, 6.33 and 6.33, correspondingly.

Luckily for Miguel, the Dream Mentors granted him another chance to prove himself worthy inside the Academy. With three Probationary Scholars left, the decision was given to the remaining Scholars. They were tasked to vote the name of the Scholar they would like to continue inside the Academy. By the end of the voting, with a total of four votes, Bunny had the privilege of being safe from the upcoming Expulsion Night.

After the release of grades, Direk Joey decided to talk to all of the Scholars. He was very much disappointed with the Scholars’ performances. According to him, as time goes by, the Scholars’ performances are getting worse. He was very transparent with his dismay on the Scholars’ lack of persistence to improve, so he reminded them once again that all of them are in a competition, not in a mere popularity contest. Perseverance is really vital on their part since the industry that they are aiming is filled with unending competition, wherein everyday someone way better than them pops out from a bunch.

For the next Gala Performance Night, the Scholars will be singing in trio. But since there are 11 Scholars, the nine Scholars were divided into three groups, while the two Probationary Scholars have to sing a duet to even up the grouping. The first group is composed of Miguel, Apple and Laarni. Best buddies Bugoy, Sen, and Van make up the other group. And as for the last group, Cris, Liezel and Bunny team up.

Each trio will be singing two songs each. Christian and Iñaki, on the other hand, will be singing one duet number and one solo act each. How will the Scholars go by their presentations? And who between Christian and Iñaki will be expelled from the Academy? Find out on Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2.

Gary V. visits the Academy

July 21, 2008 7:00 PM

Gary Valenciano surprised the scholars early this afternoon with a visit. He then sat down with them and imparted his knowledge on performing. Twenty-five years in the music industry has taught him the value of impressive and expressive singing and he wanted to pass this on to the scholars. He advised them to sing from the heart instead focusing on how to impress the audience.

Bugoy was demonstrating expressive singing when Billy barged in the Academy once more. Mr. Pure Energy was challenged to do a song and dance number to which the singer obliged to. Billy and Gary V. grooved to an original, Shake It Off and the remix version of, Shout for Joy. The scholars were more than delighted with the mini-concert Gary V. held for them in celebration of his 25th anniversary in the business.

Also a significant change in Laarni’s attitude and Bugoy’s perspective on himself was revealed on Uberture. Laarni finally took notice of how she affected her fellow scholars with her unstable emotions. To make it up to them, she woke early to prepare breakfast which the others seemed to enjoy. Meanwhile, Bugoy felt that he was being too friend-centered. If before he was focused on making others laugh with his antics, now he was problematic with his friends. With his one-on-one with Mr. C, he admitted that he, himself was his greatest enemy.

How will Bugoy solve his problem? And how did the scholars assess themselves in their one-on-one session with Mr. C? Find out the answers to these plus know who this week’s probees are on PinoyDreamAcademy Season 2’s primetime edition later after My Girl.
