Bugoy amazes Tony Hadley

August 09, 2008 12:36 AM

Spandau Ballet former vocalist, Tony Hadley, dropped by the Academy yesterday to surprise the Scholars. After a brief introduction, the said visitor shared to the Scholars one of their famous songs, Gold. And since most of the Scholars are familiar with the song, they couldn’t help but join the legendary singer on his number.

After the jamming, Tony Hadley gave few words of advice to the Acadremians on how to further improve their performances. According to him, it is already given that a performer’s greatest opponent is nervousness. He admitted that as professional as he is, he still gets a little jittery on stage, but he tries his best to get over it by staying focused. He also added that it is very much important to sing from the heart, and just enjoy the show.

Before they ended the meeting, Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab requested some of the Scholars to sing for their guest. And since Miguel’s gala piece this coming Saturday happens to be one of Spandau Ballet’s famous singles, he was given the honor of singing his rendition of True in front of the person who actually brought it to limelight.

Aside from Miguel, Bugoy was also asked to step up and present his gala song, As by George Michael. After the Farmer’s presentation, Tony Hadley wasn’t able to hide his great admiration. Out of great curiosity, the said visitor couldn’t help but ask how Bugoy learned to sing like that. Though he had little difficulty with the English language, he was able to answer the guest with a little help from the Headmaster who served as his English translator.

Unique was the best description Tony Hadley had for Bugoy’s voice, and according to him it will definitely bring him to a lot of places. How would Bugoy make use of this extra-ordinary voice? Could he use it as his edge over his co-Scholars, specifically consistent Star Scholar Liezel? Find out by staying tuned on PinoyDreamAcademy Season 2 Primetime edition, weeknights after My Girl!
