Philip sings his winning number on Uberture

August 05, 2008 6:48 PM

Philip confidently performed his winning piece, Diana by Paul Anka this afternoon. After sharing the trophy with Angelo for quite some time, he finally has the title all to himself.

The young scholar from GeneralSantosCity flew all the way to Manila to pursue his dreams in singing and also to help his family. At a tender age of four, he discovered his talent which he believes to be influenced by his father. He immediately utilized his talent to his and his family’s advantage and won Php 3,000 in a singing contest. Now winning the Outstanding Little Dreamer title, he believes he is closer to his goal.

Also on Uberture was the Dream Mentors evaluation of the scholars’ performance. Bunny kept a proper alignment though she had a lot of movements as opposed to Cris who was inconsistent. While Sen had much room for improvement, Van missed several high notes.

Mr. C thought that this was Miguel’s best performance though it needed a bit of polishing. Iñaki on the other hand couldn’t match his image with the treatment of the song. If the mentors found Apple’s vocals dreadful relative to her piece, they also noticed Bugoy’s failure to hit some notes. It was also obvious how Laarni missed the last key to her song and Liezel couldn’t maintain the regal-ness of her performance

Meanwhile, Direk Joey had the scholars assess their Face-Off performance to their initial auditions. How would the Acadreamians rate themselves? How far had they developed since they entered the Academy? Catch this story on the primetime edition of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2!
