Bugoy tries to correct his diction problem

July 10, 2008 1:12 PM

The scholars learned phonetics in today’s diction class. Each had to spell their names using the words provided by Teacher Von. Only a few minutes were given to memorize the words in the phonetic alphabet.

Apple set the bar high with her fluid pronunciation. Though the others tried to speak as fast as they could, they had the common difficulty of forgetting the words.

Bugoy had a different problem though since he had “th”, “sh” and “ph” deficiencies. When the class had to enunciate numbers, Bugoy couldn’t pronounce “three”.

Pressured by his dilemma, his jaw stiffened even more which prevented him to pronounce the words correctly. He was then advised to say “People of the Philippines” as though it were a mantra, before every class.

After which, the scholars sang their duets in front of Teacher Von and the mentor was keen on correcting every mispronounced word. Will the scholars remember these corrections and apply them in this Saturday’s Gala Performance? Stay tuned to the freshest updates on this season’s dreamers later on Uberture!
