The Little Dreamers on their first Gala Night

July 13, 2008 11:40 PM

The fruits of the Dream Mentors' labor were put to the test on the Little Dreamers' very first Gala Performance Night, hosted by Nikki Gil. This would be their first practical application of everything they have learned during their classes, and as their coaches expected, the cute little kids didn't fail them.

The panel of judges was composed of Erik Santos, Geneva Cruz and Jimmy Antiporda and they admitted that they were impressed with the 12 Little Dreamers' performances. According to them, it was pretty outstanding that at such a young age the Little Dreamers were able to give out a display of enormous talent. The great voice quality that Dean, Amy and Angelo possessed were just too good to be missed by the jurors.

Though some of the Little Dreamers were at their best, some were discovered to be in need of more practice. Common errors found were failure to get the right notes and lack of stage presence. With the notes, some were unable to avoid flats and sharps. In terms of stage presence, usual problematic parts of the kids’ performances are the use of hand gestures and facial expressions. According to them, some Little Dreamers failed to make the most of their body movements and emotions. Only Amy and Angelo perfected the art of performing on stage while singing. But despite the little flaws, all the Little Dreamers were still found to be all in all good.

All 12 Little Dreamers did well, but Angelo was the one hailed tonight's Outstanding Little Dreamer. His very own rendition of Queen's I Want to Break Free earned him a perfect 10 score.

With Angelo’s claim of the Outstanding Little Dreamer title, this means he is now safe from the upcoming Probation Night. Based on the performance that they put on tonight, the jurors have chosen who among the twelve needs more room for improvement. Who among the remaining 11 Little Dreamers would be on probation? Stay tuned for the announcement of the probees on the Little Dreamers’ Second Gala Performance Night next Sunday.
