For tonight’s session, the Scholars had to learn two new dance steps—the ripple and the wave. For the ripple move, Teacher Georcelle’s simple “bend” and “push” instructions were immediately grasped by the Scholars. Though some had a hard time doing the ripple, the scholars all got the hang of it after a bit of practice. The wave dance move was taught to them afterwards.
After teaching the basic moves, Teacher Georcelle then proceeded with the explanation of tonight’s lesson. According to her, the activity was somehow an expression of their sensuality. In her own words, she defined sexiness as a burst of confidence. She added that one doesn’t need to have a perfect glass hour figure or a six-pack of abs to be called sexy. She also shared to them the names of people who might not look physically attractive but emanated a sexy vibe.
One person she cited was singer Bituin Escalante. And when she mentioned the singer’s name, she couldn’t help but notice Apple’s violent reaction. She called Apple’s attention and asked her why she was reacting that way. Apple admitted that she doesn’t find the said singer sexy.
Upon hearing Apple’s answer, Teacher Georcelle immediately asked her definition of sexiness. And as the Teacher expected, Apple limited the word sexy to a 36-24-26 body measurement. The dance instructor was obviously disappointed, and somehow enraged to the extent that she called her stubborn, with this answer because her main goal in this activity is to take away that kind of thinking from the scholars. She wanted all of them, regardless of body weight and size, to be sexy in their own way.
